This is something I'd be interested in getting as we spend most summer weekends on a fairly large inland lake.
A couple weeks ago I saw jet-surf for the first time but then saw they are something like 16k. But it lasts for an hour and you just add more gas when that is up. http://www.jet-surf.com/en/
Then tonight I searched and found powerski. These look like more of a combo between a surfboard and a kayak in shape. And your feet are not strapped in. Instead the throttle strap acts like a handle to stay on the board. I'm not sure if this would give the feeling of a surfboard though as far as maneuvering and ride. Not sure the price of these. http://www.powerski.com/content/psi_index.php
It will be interesting to see this evolve more. I just purchased a new waverunner but I'd like to get something like this.
...I had another thought about this. My tire was flat after only a few rides - I wondering if airfreighting an inflated tire halfway around the world could have damaged the valve? Could the drop in air pressure in a aircraft cause the tire to "over-inflate"? Perhaps it may be wise to drop the pressure before shipping?
