Small rocks and such stuck in the tire
Hello fellow riders! First time wheeler here and have about 40 miles on my + so far. Today I decided to inspect the tire and I noticed that there was plenty of small pebbles and even small glass shards stuck deep in the tire, though not to the point where when I removed them air would leak. It seems like something unavoidable, it's just so unnerving seeing these chunks in my tire! So I went to town and removed them all, is this good practice? How thick is the tire itself, maybe I shouldn't be worried at all?
Nothing to worry about.
@8bit No stress as this will always be an issue. I still usually get a cloth and just wipe my tire off when finished riding. If you do happen to notice your tire loosing air pressure slowly then use about a half can of slime and that will carry a long way!
That's a relief! Thanks for the replies, much appreciated.
I cut down a door brush and silicone caulked it to the underside of the back of my board where it was just lightly brushing up against the back of the tire. It has worked pretty well at keeping debris from getting lodged in my tire. It doesn't seem to hurt the tire but it does wear out and need to be replaced about every 200 miles.
@Hamasvjnga would you be able to post a picture of how you attached it? I don't ride with my fender all the time when I am offroad and know the board will be taking a lot of tumbles but would still like a little bit of a splash guard sometimes.
I cut the door brush to the length of the tire and adhered it to the back, bottom of my board with silicone caulk. It's pretty easy to remove with a razor blade when the brush needs to be changed. This brush has worn down a bit.
