I hear your point, but I was considering a Speed and Skill motorcycle jacket w pads because it looks way LESS obviously padded than my skateboard stuff.
Maybe the pants, too.
What is the current cost for your fenders? We suspect Santa may bring a second board later this morning. I know we will order a handle from MazzCo / Greg Digenti, but we will want another fender, too.
Our other OW+ has a Future Motion fender, it has held up and seems to do the job.
Sounds like it could have been worse- I’m happy to hear you are relatively ok and plan to be back riding soon. Your analysis sounds very reasonable, unlike some others who are stringently blaming the board itself for their 20+mph crashes.
However - I agree with you about have a “programmable speed” alarm.
My 9yo had trouble initially, he got a few scrapes on his ankles and retired.
Then, I met up with 3 other riders in a local park and all their daughters were riding their dads' Onewheels. So my son of course immediately wanted to get back on the board (it had been several months since he had last tried). He rode around the park with those girls for an hour without issue.
So now he loves it and rides with apparent ease. I make him wear full pads (wrist, elbow, knee, helmet).
He wants one for Christmas, and I consider it a gift for dad, as well- so I can ride with my boy.
