I just came back from US with my brand new OW+! I used the method you described as the best. Battery as carry on and board checked without the battery.
I used the video mentioned as a guide to disassemble it and printed all wiki documents. I flew with AA from JFK NY. I was pretty transparent at AA desk and while going through TSA. No documents asked.
I really wanted to thank you and all the Onewheel community!!
Is it possible to take just the battery as a carry-on? I always heard that the battery is the reason why electric boards aren't allowed in flights. Is it also possible in international flights?
I'm also going to USA in a couple of weeks and would love to bring my second Onewheel back home.
@CapoDelToro I don't know another way around... You should talk to FM's support. They are pretty solicit and will know what to do, but be prepared to stay away from you board for a couple of weeks...
@Tartopom Do you also use the PRO X shirt from G-Form? Some OW riders hurt the shoulders pretty bad during wipe outs and I wonder if G-form's shirt would protect them, as the alternative (football shoulder pads) are quite bulky...

I'm from Brazil and just had my board fixed by FM. I had to sent it using FEDEX and it's already returned. As it was under warranty, they paid for everything. The only downside was that I stayed around 3 weeks away from my OW...
Sad... But that is also what I'm doing...
@wr420 Actually shipping from São Paulo, which is southeast of Brazil...
The shipping is fast. They use FedEx airplane.What can take a couple of days is the handling and customs.
I'm afraid I'll be almost a month away from my board...

Eu não trouxe o onewheel de avião. Eu comprei pelo site e eles me entregaram via FedEx (ironicamente, veio no avião da FedEx...). O único problema disso é o custo maior de frete e, principalmente o imposto de importação.
Em relação ao suporte, Eles foram bastante rápidos para me responder por email, mas eu terei que enviar a prancha para eles por FedEx também.
À princípio, eles vão pagar tudo. Transporte e conserto,.
Está pensando em comprar uma para você ou já comprou?
@wr420 I've contacted FM's support and will have to send my OW to them.
Although, they were pretty solicit and will prepay for everything, I'll have to over pack the board and drop it at a FEDEX center.
After the inspection, if FM concludes the board has a "extensive water damage", I will have to cover the two way shipping and repair.
I'm pretty confident I did nothing exceptional with the board, but will have to wait a couple of weeks (at best) for it's return and their verdict about who will pay for everything.
Frustrating, but at least there truly is a support even for someone that is so far away...
@wr420 I was afraid of that. As I live in Brazil, that's going to be costly and take a long time...

Hi all,
I just came back from a riding on the beach, but it did not go well.
After rinsing the OW with fresh water and let it dry for a couple of hours, the start button began flashing 3 times and the board turned off. I plug it to the charger and the following message appear in the OW app: "ERROR! Battery Overcharged. Please leave your Onewheel unplugged"
What should I do?
