RE: Sell current OW+ to buy new XR or just buy boosted board?
You have failed to consider the most reasonable option.
Keep the + as a backup and for beating on, or loaning to friends to ride with you.
Use the XR for your longer rides, but make it your 'baby' board.
Or.. That's what I'm doing anyway. Actually, keeping 2 +'s. One for daily use, one for loans/backup/beating on like a mule...
For me that makes the most sense - cost is sunk - and this gives me a LOT of options and a guaranteed board ready to go - it was PAINFUL to send my only OW back for service.
RE: Battery Regen from carving on a flat surface?
There is a stupid ass design decision at play here: There are two 'versions' of "Settings"
The first is the one you know, let's call it "Board Settings" - this is what you get when you're connected to a Onewheel. The second type is "App Settings" - you can only get this by having the app recognize that you're not connected to any board, and then going into settings.
Shut off your board.
Go to settings. Scroll to the bottom, and click "Disconnect".
You may need to reload the app, or switch screens, but now "Settings" will have what you want.
RE: How many WH does the battery of the Onewheel+ XR have?
324WH. Way over the limit.
RE: Range onewheel+
Did a test early this morning - laps around a tennis court - constant speed, no carving, 9-10mph target.
Watching the amp burn rate - I was pulling down about a mile for every .25 usage - meaning that I'd theoretically get just under 12 miles out a single charge under highly optimal conditions.
OW+ (Mission Mode)
Tire Pressure set to 25lbs
My fat ass weighs in at 225 as of this Morning with clothes and crap in pockets.
RE: Air pressure
I have found a lower 'safe' limit - at 5psi my tire felt 'wobbly' at speeds around 14/15mph. Very loose ride, and I burned a SHITLOAD of battery doing about 1 mile like that (40%+)..
With that being said, it didn't hurt the motor, or fry the controller, or anything really - just felt dangerous and loose. (I weigh 215lbs)
So - 8psi seems to be about the lowest you can ride without it getting too loose. And I'm sure it'll affect range. I like mine at about 25psi.
RE: Nosedive "mitigation" product - beta testers wanted!
@ventoriffic - I tail drag regularly in emergency stops.
As far as installing these on the back? That'd be.. Not optimal.
I'd prefer something like a softer rubber bumper back that that would eat inertia quicker when dug into the pavement. Quite the opposite idea really.
