I left a comment on the photo that appears to be the problem. I haven't ever seen this happen. I've never worked on a V1 though. Something's not right though. Sorry I can't help any more than that.

I wrapped mine with carbon fiber vinyl and it still looks good I've had it on for probably 3 months.
