Lets take things to the next level.
The world has never ridden anything like Onewheel and like any board sport, it’s the riders—you—who will take it further than we could have ever imagined. You will go on epic adventures, ride terrain thought to be impossible and develop your own riding styles and none of them will be wrong. You will dream up tricks that have never been attempted – and stick them. We’re just here to give you the opportunity, turn on the camera and get the hell out of the way.
Here are some of the things that get us fired up:
Onewheels and dirt go together like peanut butter and jelly. There's really not much better than hitting the pump track for some berms and banks and leaving a dust trail to mark your line. Onewheel also chews up dirt trails like morning cereal, making for some epic exploratory outdoor adventures! We've got some secret lines in Golden Gate Park and the Santa Cruz Mountains that particularly ruffle our feathers. We'd tell you but then we'd have to kill you.
Nothing makes you want to go big or go home like a grass landing. Also if you find yourself in a position to capitalize on the well manicured pastures of a golf course, strap in. That is Onewheeling territory at it's finest.
Beach riding is like the Golden Retriever of terrains, it's just everyone's favorite. And how could it not be? The natural give and drift of sand feels unbelievably similar to snow. We actually had to pinch ourselves during the making of the Ocean Beach edit to make sure it was still real life. Beach snowboarding... enough said.
One of those life is awesome moments
The beauty of Onewheel is that the plush tire makes even the gnarliest terrain silky smooth but if you find some nice smooth concrete it feels like riding a pile of smashed potatoes. On a magic carpet.... Yum! Our favorite? The polished concrete floors in our building in Santa Cruz.
You haven't hacked life until you've ridden a Onewheel to your gate. If you're not careful you may almost even experience a ting of guilt as you blow past burdened and panicked pedestrians. Yes, it will feel like the future, and yes, it fits in the overhead bin.
"Well I think it might be a donut on a stick!?"
Urban Parking Quagmires
San Francisco is a parking desert. Generally we used to be unwilling to park more than 3 or 4 blocks from our destination which sometimes means circling for all eternity. Not anymore. Now we park as far away from our destination as possible. More blocks to travel = more time spent in carving nirvana. It's just math people...
The boards have improved dramatically, and so have the riders. It's amazing to see how far riding has come in just a year and mind boggling to think about where it will be a year from now! We remember the first time we went off a 2 inch ledge strapped to the teeth with padding and fearing the worst. Flash forward 12 months, riders are dropping 3-stairs, pulling 180 power slides, body various and shove-its. If you can add to this list let us know and we can talk sponsorship - no joke!!
Let's see what you got!
Democratization of Stoke
Don't get us wrong, it's awesome to see board sport people hop on and start carving from the get go. That said, it's much more rewarding riding with folks who never thought Onewheeling would be their thing. We've rode with folks (all carefully supervised of course) from ages 4 - 84 and to watch a grandpa's eyes as he experiences that indescribable feeling of riding something for the first time is pretty darn heavy. Bringing EVERYONE that high on life feeling is what gets us up in the morning (and keeps us up way too late at night).
But not while riding Onewheels.
