Tire pressure a bigger deal than I thought!

is anyone using nitrogen to inflate their tires?

Question for beach sand riders...
On smooth pavement and long distances, I like 20-22psi, and on dirt/off-road, about 15 psi. Anyone have a psi preference for coastal beach riding?

You all convinced me to finally check my pressure with a low pressure gauge, thank you all for your recommendations as well using a hand bike pump, I loved the way the board rode and it showed 9 or 10 lbs. I raised it 16 and it seems a bit more wobbly. I guess I will have to spend the entire day tomorrow riding and I will follow up

I don't know if only weighing 150 makes a difference.

idea for Onewheel v2: pressure control from the App
-
Pumped the tire up for the first time this evening. Was running around 12psi and pumped it up to 19.5psi. Felt like riding on a cloud before and went to feeling every crack in the pavement afterwards. Lower psi is also easier to turn, board seems to tip to the side more easily. But after 10 mins then you adjust and the the new pressure just becomes "normal" again.

I like to run 19/20 on smooth and 16/17 on rougher grounds
-
Is it easier to learn down around 16 psi? Even lower?
-
It kinda seems like knowing each others tire psi would be somewhat more relevant if we knew the persons (riding) weight (or close to it) as well. 15psi would likely ride far different for someone weighing 150 than it does for someone weighing 225 wouldn't it??
-
The manual says 20psi.. Doesn't say max or anything.. Your weight is going to make a difference
-
@MichaelW I have that same gauge and love it

I just received my OneWheel+ (yay!) and my screw-on pump no longer screws on enough to engage the valve-stem. This used to work, and the pump screws on to other, similar, valve stems (e.g. bicycle, motorcycle).
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
I use this pump for my tire:

@njcustom I have found through experience that this near my ideal anyway.

Looks like I get through 2 tires in the Summer and 1 in Winter.
Ordering my 3rd tire.

Can someone please post a picture of the + air nozzle? Is it easier to access?
-
@sonny123 I had the same issue with one side wearing faster than the other. My solution was to ride the board backwards some commutes. This was easier on the plus model. With the v1, you could feel a slight tilt when riding it backwards.

Interesting idea.
I'm thinking of just rotating the tire and see what happens.
Maybe I'll get another month.

Off to the tire shop to rotate the tire.
