How do I reset a OW?
-
Bummer. I've had my OW for just 10 days, and have been loving it.
But this afternoon it's just a heavy flashlight. There's no error code - power button is blinking 16 times. But, it won't start when I stand on it, and I can't power it off either. I tried pressing the power button, holding it down, etc. No change...
Any ideas on how to reset this OW?
I went for a long ride this morning, and it was fine. I upgraded to firmware 3034 yesterday. I have hardware version 2206.

No ideas on a reset but did you see this in the other post yet?

What's error 16?
We know, it's not even on the sheet. Error 16 means your battery isn't talking to your controller properly. If you're getting an error 16 shoot us an email at support@rideonewheel.com and we'll get you taken care of.

If you have 16 blinks, you will need to send your board back to Julian. Call customer service as soon as you can and give them a heads up.

@jeff8v7 - Did you ever get your issue sorted after the firmware update?
-
I live in Japan - so sending my board back isn't an easy option. I contacted Onewheel, and they said to wait for the firmware update that's coming out this week. Hopefully, that will get me on the road again...
-
@Boogieman I haven't resolved my issue yet. Just more blinking... blinking... blinking... for more than a week now...
-
You would think if a board could be fixed with software they would have part of the app for tech support or a separate app for that. Hopefully this update gets you up and running.
-
Update - waiting for a software fix didn't work out, but Onewheel is fixing me up with a free repair, so I'll be happily back on the road soon!

Finally on the road again!! Thanks for Future Motion for taking care of me under warranty. They said some parts were loose - nothing to do with the firmware.

Good to hear, @jeff8v7! Did you have to send the board back to FM?
-
Yes @madsb - I sent the board back to FM to get it repaired - but they covered the shipping which was quite remarkable since I live in Japan. My cost was $0. I'm happy to be riding again after a long down time.

Awesome to hear. Puts my mind a bit at ease as an overseas customer.
