Speeding up
-
Hi
I'm new to my OW
I have pretty good
Skateboard skills but I notice in the normal setting, I can't maintain higher speed.
Maybe it's because my front foot leg stays bent a little. I just can't seem to sustain enough front leg weight to keep it at a constant higher speed. Or maybe it's the OW's governor that slows me down.
Or...maybe I need to straight that front leg and lean forward beyond vertical...but it feels unnatural and somewhat dangerous.
All comments appreciated.
ThanksBen

Are you in Extreme mode? If not, switch to extreme mode in the app. What speed are you getting up to? I sometimes feel the same way, but when I check my route tracking app (I use one designed for biking), it tells me that I've been getting up to 14-15mph with occasional bursts up to 20 mph. Once you start to get used to riding, you do feel the urge to go faster. Again, if you aren't Extreme mode, definitely switch.

Thanks I'll try extreme.
Does that mode allow you to go faster with less forward leaning?

@54onewheel It lets you go faster without the nose of the board pulling up. The mode you are in stops your top speed at about 8 mph I believe, before the nose goes up and slows you down. All will be well when you switch modes. Enjoy!

Awesome thanks

@54onewheel @MichaelW
read this: http://community.rideonewheel.com/topic/256/newbie-real-world-beginners-manual
Also, it's not so much about pressing down on your front leg, but more shifting your weight from your hips forward...

@54onewheel That's called "pushback". Besides the community manual mentioned by @Polle, you should also just read the little booklet that came with your Onewheel... it should take all of about 10 minutes.
