2020 Update: Better Board Shoes Make for Better Riding!
-
@GlueBreath I rode my board 24 miles 2 days ago in my Adidas. I'm 45 years old, 211 lbs. Live with the pain. Ride or die.
A musical selection to make your feet tingle and your eardrums vibrate like a butterflies wings...

@GlueBreath If you're having pain issues, walking, standing or riding in any shoe you may have plantar fasciitis or the start of it. These inserts have really helped me with foot pain and you can add to any shoe. They were recommended by my doctor. https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Dhpc&field-keywords=pure+stride+

Anyone using regular running shoes?

How you guys are riding more then a couple blocks in those flat ass shoes without your feet killing you is beyond me? I have bought a few pairs of flat "skate" shoes specifically for riding and they are all collecting dust now.. ruined the whole experience for me from the discomfort.
Then I tried an old pair of Nike Air Max I had laying around and damn talk about the most comfortable ride + full control & good grip..I can do 3-4 full charges back to back without any discomfort.. the full on air unit makes for a super cushioned ride especially in bumpy conditions + cuts down vibration.. these are my current favorite boarding shoes.
I'm also experimenting with Adidas Pureboost + Ultraboost but they still need to be broken in for proper long term comfort so I'm not 100% sold on them yet.. these are all $180+ a pair shoes retail so I wouldn't recommend them exclusively for riding but if you have an old pair laying around of either try it out.. might surprise you for a "runner".. I'm all about long term comfort since I use my OW as a means of getting around not just a recreational "toy".
Springblades my friend... with gel inserts... most comfortable ride you can get. Also if you have muscle fatigue I'm your foot, take magnesium pills before you ride. It will help with the muscle spasms

Have been playing a fair amount of Disc Golf lately so not a ton of speed more side hill on grass and dirt. I am liking the freedom and grip from this closed toe sandal..!
-
@lidphones just ordered my OW+ with disc golf use in mind. How are you faring on the course? Any tips+tricks you'd like to share? Any negative feedback from other disc golfers on the course? Thanks.
-
@bsulla I am loving it so far. If the course is irrigated then the loss of friction on grass could be an issue depending on the OW skill level. I am a heavier guy @ 230+ so some steeper uphill runs require carrying the OW. Down hill is a blast. I think of it like my golf cart (LOL). Let me know how the OW+ works for you.

I ride with him often. He's not trolling at all. Absolutely rides in these every time.

Probably seems batshit crazy to most of you, but the BEST shoe I have ridden in are Clark's business shoes.
-
@lidphones that's awesome. I am about the same weight. For now I shall continue to play the waiting game. Thanks. Cheers.

@OW-Miami
Not 🦇 💩 crazy at all... I have done a few miles in my Ecco shoes and they stick really well.
-
@ow-miami @LidPhones would love to see a pic of you guys in your business attire riding the OW- now that's taking care of business!
-
@groovyruvy Casual Biz for Friday. Will need one with suit next... LOL
-
@ow-miami @LidPhones I bet these are shoes feel the best due to their elevated heel and probably because of their cushy insoles. I tried using skateboard shoes when i first started riding the OW but I found the larger the heel the more connected to the board I felt. Obviously this is speaking specifically to heels on mens shoes not large women's shoes.
I have not had any luck uploading pictures or videos to this forum, but if you follow the links in my signature you can see some videos of me riding in a suit and even one with me in a suit with my dog.

As requested

@ow-miami heck yeah bro!

Someone in the FB Group had a co-worker provided video of him cruising through the office in a full suit.... and the video was set to Riding Dirty.

Nike SB's as my daily drivers but damn the board feels like it's connected to you when you ride barefoot. I usually ride barefoot to the beach or close by and just cruising/carving, no crazy stuff.

Planning ahead to a 2018 OW+ purchase (totally miss the old V1).....
As we exit 2017 and start 2018 it is an ideal time to visit about what is your footware of choice... Here is one 2018 list to start things off
