Post high speed here! OWheelbuddy app
-
This conversation is cracking me up. The owheelbuddy app is using good ol' fashioned math calculations, tough to dispute. This is almost as funny as trying to blame nosedives on hardware/software failure (almost).
-
Pretty darn accurate.
Just did a test run and rode side by side with a car while he was giving me his speed.
My guess it's within 5% over reporting.
I usually experience pushback at around 11+ mph and did just that.
My average all around speed is actually 10 mph as I thought it was less.
-
Not gonna lie I had to get it just to see how many miles I have on my onewheel that's pretty dope

@slydogstroh hahaha nice man 24 is pretty good!! Going to work and back never been so much fun! And I used to have a boosted board before my onewheel!
And yeah I don't get it why does FM says the board top speed is 15mph and only 5-6 mile range
What kind of mileage do you get on your board with one charge??
-
Sure goes way faster with no load.

@mathfreire Depends on the terrain. At the boosted meetup a couple weeks ago I got 10 miles on one charge because we were going over bridges with large downslopes at the end and the regenerative braking charged us all back up. My commute is 5 miles long, pretty flat, and I usually have about 30% battery left.
In my experience, 22 mph top speed and 6-8 miles range is more accurate, as I hit those numbers consistently.

I stand corrected.

18.9 is my max speed, after that the OW cuts out, but I weigh 215 lbs so that probably has something to do with it...
-
@dirtyjersey
I bought a tablet just to use the android app and wish I wouldve waited for this app. I wanted to see the total miles and thats the only reason. But the apple one light function works and the android app doesn't. I think android is like microsoft. They make you keep buying hardware to run the newer software.
-
15.9 MPH so far.
I think that was achieved on my down hill carving as the OW nose was pushing back. That is plenty fast for me and it remains fun. I do not want to tempt the OW limit and taste the ground. As a side note the GPS app Strava showed the same max speed as OWheelbuddy.
-
@LidPhones I hit over 21 mph last night and it nosedived but I was able to run it out. I am mentally prepared at all times for this thing to dip and if you use the momentum of your rear foot being thrusted forward by the rear of the board kicking up it puts you into a sprint.
-
19.26 is mine. I've hit it twice now.
-
@Hubbitron Top speed run-out... love hearing that!
-
@thegreck Right.. last time I tried to run out on my longboard I ended up with no skin left on my hips & elbows. Granted I was bombing a big hill and had much more speed than capable on a OW - still scary now.
-
-
Managed a whapping 34.98 km/h (21.74 mph) but yesterday I was dropped by the board at 17 km/h (10.5 mph) and I got hurt pretty bad so I don't think I will be trying for a new record
-
@groovyruvy wow! pushing it there bud!
-
@thehoff I haven't really feared the onewheel until now that I fell and that wasn't even at close to my top speed so yeah. I'm kinda scared now
-
@Marcusan1387 I've had2 big nosedives and don't push past 15 mph anymore. No need to as I'm always carving and rarely going in a straight line
