Post high speed here! OWheelbuddy app

15.9 MPH so far.
I think that was achieved on my down hill carving as the OW nose was pushing back. That is plenty fast for me and it remains fun. I do not want to tempt the OW limit and taste the ground. As a side note the GPS app Strava showed the same max speed as OWheelbuddy.

@LidPhones I hit over 21 mph last night and it nosedived but I was able to run it out. I am mentally prepared at all times for this thing to dip and if you use the momentum of your rear foot being thrusted forward by the rear of the board kicking up it puts you into a sprint.
-
19.26 is mine. I've hit it twice now.
-
@Hubbitron Top speed run-out... love hearing that!
-
@thegreck Right.. last time I tried to run out on my longboard I ended up with no skin left on my hips & elbows. Granted I was bombing a big hill and had much more speed than capable on a OW - still scary now.

Managed a whapping 34.98 km/h (21.74 mph) but yesterday I was dropped by the board at 17 km/h (10.5 mph) and I got hurt pretty bad so I don't think I will be trying for a new record
-
@groovyruvy wow! pushing it there bud!
-
@thehoff I haven't really feared the onewheel until now that I fell and that wasn't even at close to my top speed so yeah. I'm kinda scared now
-
@Marcusan1387 I've had2 big nosedives and don't push past 15 mph anymore. No need to as I'm always carving and rarely going in a straight line
-
@thehoff in sweden (or atleast where I live) there's long straight roads either going up or down. sure there is some other fun routes but ex going to school is just 3 turns and rest just straight roads
-
@thehoff candidly I posted it incredulously. Yeah I was jammin' but I just never felt like I was going almost 21mph. I have a couple theories about how the high speeds can be gamed, when we connect I'll show you.
-
23.5mph on the second day of owning it. Paid the price at the end though.I think 25mph can be achieved in elevated. Is everyone trying this in extreme?
-
@MLV Haven't really tried to reach top speed on elevated mode yet, why do you think that would be faster?? Just curious, I reached my top speed 26.5 and also 24.6 riding on extreme mode. Going to give it a try riding elevated mode and see how it goes!

I imagine his thinking is that in Elevated mode you can tilt the deck more without accidentally putting too much weight forward, since you'll in reality just be leveling it, rather than pointing it towards the ground. He could be right.

@mathfreire I was on a slight down hill, probably no more than 1 degree and was right on the pavement. To @thegreck's point, I think I would've been able to tilt the deck more and not worry about catching the asphalt. We'll see. Wounds have to heal first.

@groovyruvy wow! Crazy speeds!
-
might be a dumb questoin, how to i get the app to switch from kilometers, to MPH.
Thanks

@skideeppow tap on the 3 dots in the upper right corner then uncheck the 'metric units' box
