Just bought a OW
-
Yeay I finally joined the community of being a owner of a OW (well. soon I suppose). Just gonna have to wait for it to get here to Sweden.
Btw. anybody know how long it would take to get here. going to japan in 2 weeks and where hoping to get it before that. I ordered it 01/09 and still haven't gotten any tracking info. Have read people getting it between 2-8 weeks so I guess kinda hard to calculate.I'm also interested in peoples ways of locking up your OW. Is it as simple as hooking up a bicycle lock somewhere on it or could you potentially install a kensington lock on it?
Anyways. Very hyped over receiving a OW that probably would become a life changer

@Marcusan1387 welcome! Do some searching within this forum on shipping times and locks, lots of answers here.

@Marcusan1387 I use a snowboard lock. Like this one. https://store.magicseaweed.com/Northcore-Locks-Northcore-Viper-X-2G-Snowboard/Ski-Travel-Lock-Black/Product/167290?gclid=COay7f3v_c4CFfQW0wodqWcJNw&gclsrc=aw.ds
It has a retractable cable that can be put through the frame and then around anything you like. I use it for locking onewheel when charging in cafes so I can go and order and sit outside without worrying.

@thehoff hi Pal, could not open that link. . . .
-
@thehoff seems nice. might pick 1 up

@groovyruvy hey bud. Try this. http://www.my-race.com/p/656/demon-mini-snowboard-lock
The one I have has a 4 digit lock.
-
@groovyruvy just google snowboard lock. They are the size of a cell phone. So handy
-
@thehoff I like this idea. Mainly because I already have a couple :p. It's not strong enough to withstand an attack, but a quick moment for you to take your eye off I would probably be okay with.
-
@hustle I've used one for years to lock my snowboard at lunchtimes. I guess if someone wants to steal a snowboard they will pick someone else's that's not locked up. So I guess it's a good deterrent. Hopeful the same for onewheel. But I agree I wouldn't leave it locked with this for very long periods
-
@thehoff here in LA with theft being rampant, thieves these days can pretty much pick or defeat any type of lock. What I like about yours is it's small and light- ideal for taking with you on a ride. But could only use that around here with one eye on it at all times- perfect for situations like you said when you need to run into a store to order something, but always watching it. . . . .
-
@groovyruvy yeah your right. You need a charge,, head inside the cafe or bar. Plug it in, lock it up.. Order beer or coffee. Sit outside and chill. Come back and it's still where you left it. 😎😎😀😀
-
Why locking it up would be a good thing for me is for when I'm in school. would be placing it in a server room that is safe by itself but extra security wouldn't hurt.
-
@Marcusan1387 perfect application for this compact lock
-
@Marcusan1387 Were you in Central Park today?
-
Im using a Snowboard lock, I picked up a Burton one somewhere. Just 150-200 kr or so.
Where are you located Marcusan? (where in Sweden?)
-
