Camera and mounting tips
-
i glued a small piece of metal near the front of my onewheel. I use it to attach my polaroid camera, which has a built-in magnet
-
@pteasima That's pretty cool. You gotta post a video from that setup.
I'm guessing it'll be a bit wavy :P

-
@pteasima Better than expected. Nice video, and very nice off-road driving.
I guess this works pretty well, unless carving like a snowboarder. Thankfully, you went pretty straight or I would be rather nauseous by now.I wonder if I could get my hands on a drone to shoot a clip in follow-me mode, that would be really cool.

Here's my set up:
-
My buddy just ordered a Lily drone for follow me shots. I'm looking into the cyphy lvl1 to see how they compare. It'd be nice getting great quality footage with out a mount or anything on your board.
-
I just ordered a Lily drone myself. I think it would be awesome riding down the street/beach on your Onewheel with a Lily drone following along with a smooth 360 degree tracking shot.
-
Looking forward to footage from Lily drone! Please share with us guys!
-
Unfortunately Lily doesn't ship until Q1 2016 - so it will be quite a while. Rest assured though, I will post as soon as I can.
-
I am glad I stumbled across the lily drone prior to the cost increase.
July 2015 - my Onewheel will arrive
February 2016 - my Lily will shipAwesome find
-
another drone camera is "ZANO" which is shipping soon.
can't wait for mine..
-
@intra That looks really nice. I did see it one time, but I didn't pay much attention to it. I've always wanted a nice drone, but with a go-pro quality camera.
However, it's mainly going to be me on my board, so this should be quite enough really. Might get one of those... either way, be sure to upload some nice footage from it.

need a mount for my Hero 3+, is the arm above worth getting for onewheel videos or nah
-
I bought that mount Sam, but I removed the arm and I clip the camera right to the jaws clamp, then right by the board. It's more stable off road for me that way. I assume on more flat spaces it would be fine to use the arm. The arm started moving out of place with all the bumps.

Good to know! The Idea is to make one video showing all the local terrain and riding conditions. these would be steep hills, a boardwalk by the beach, trails through the woods, trails up and down sand dunes (it gets all through the dunes with ease!), overcrowded downtown areas, and my daily work commute on the bike path.
