Best air pressure to your weight
-
I'm tring to figure out what air pressure everyone is riding with.. Your weight obviously makes a difference.. I'm 180 pounds and riding at 16psi.. The booklet says to ride at 20psi.. I feel like 16psi is still a little to much.. I don't feel any cushion.. Anyone riding below 16 and still getting good milage? If you comment please post your weight and pressure..
Thank you!

I like 13-14psi. 190 lbs.
-
@forzabucks interesting .. And you're getting 7-8 mile range?
-
For a asphalt/cement I like it 16-17 for rough terrain 10-11 I weigh 158
-
I'm not really sure what pressure I'm riding, since I used a bicycle pump. Not very accurate measurement and it was some time ago.
My guess is that it's not more than 14 PSI. I'm probably around the same weight as well. Either way I find whatever I'm riding to be pretty perfect. I can ride all the nasty bumps with no problem, and it still handles the 5 miles that I need it to do.
Too soft also doesn't feel very good.

@germx You just need to use a pressure gauge, doesn't matter what you use to fill the tire.
-
@ricoburgos I felt like 17 was way to wobbly .. I'm at 14 now and it feels pretty good.. Maybe a pound to much..
-
Yes the harder the tire is the wobblier it gets! 14 is a goos overall number @njcustom
-
I wonder if anyone rides lower then 13psi
-
@njcustom I'm pretty sure I did a few times. Had a slow leak. I noticed it one day, because it felt really soft and swampy riding it. I think the pressure gauge measured around 10 PSI when I went to fill it up. Hardly got 4 miles out of it in that state :P
@thegreck True, but I really don't have one of those lying around. Also, it's perfect, so I didn't bother to mess with it anymore :)
-
@forzabucks do you notice a difference between 13 and 14 or do you just set it somewhere close
-
@njcustom No, and i'm sure it goes lower with regular use. I ride on a mix of street, boardwalk, and sand. I've tried 16-17 and it was a noticeable difference. Nothing I couldn't easily control, but just didn't feel as soft and smooth. I would only ride 16+ if I knew I was going on a completely smooth surface and needed to get better mileage out it for a long trip.

It's all personal preference.I do trail asphalt everything. I just took a little air out from whatever air pressure it is when you get it.
-
@DVO the book says 20 so you would think it would come with 20.. But mine came with 17
-
I ride 16-17 on all surfaces, but now gonna test with 13-14 if it really is more fun like this...
-
@Polle much better at 13-14 in my opinion.. I still got 7 miles too
-
I weight 190 pounds, what weight is the recommended to learning?
-
@Dariusz I'm roughly 190 and I always ride at 14psi.. To hard makes the tire very square and to soft will be squishy..
-
175 lbs and always try to keep it in the 13-15 range.
-
I like 11-13 range. 170 here.
