Gps tracking for Onewheel under 2$

Pretty sure any one of these things would fit in the wire control box . Flip the board upside down and in the rear of the nose is a box with 2 Allen screws... any one of these should fit and nobody would ever know it was there but you..
-
Is there room under either footpad to stuff something like this? I don't imagine so, but I am curious how you would put it on your board if thats not the case.
-
@drewbaumann in the wire control box...it's the plastic cover in the nose.. flip the board over and it's 2 Allen screws

Even better

The issue with devices like this is that they only work within 30 ft of the device.

@drewbaumann they both claim to use Google maps..

@njcustom: those bluetooth devices will not do the trick. i am afraid as long as there is no real gps device which regularly sends its position using cellular, this won't do ehat you would expect it to do
-
@cr4p all 3 of these devices show you on Google maps where your lost item is..
-
For the price and and ease of use, it wouldn't hurt.
-
@njcustom So I think if you were to pursue this your best bet may be the tile.
I say this because while it doesnt offer GPS (or tracking in real time) the app on the phone does passively take note of tile devices in a 100ft radius. Because it can associate the serial number (or other unique identifier) of the device it can update the location of the tracker based on the user's location who happened to have their phone open while passing by it. So what it tracks is "Last known location". That is how it is able to be shown on Google Maps.
Unfortunately I think the odds of this leading to a device actually being found while stolen is slim, it wouldnt hurt!

Re: Tile, it really depends on where you are whether it can help. In densely populated areas, it can work since far more people have the app. I can see lots of other devices that have registered the location of my keys all the time. I also found my wifes keys on the beach based on a rough approximation of location phoned in by someone else's tile app. Full disclosure, I'm in Los Angeles area. In rural areas, it would be useless except if you can get in range.
-
@drewbaumann I see what you're saying now
-
I lost my motorcycle keys in the middle of San Francisco in August and haven't found them. They have a Tile on the keyring, and I regularly get email and app notifications that they've been sighted, but I've never been able to actually track them down.
However, if you've lost something in your house, couch, car, office, etc. it works pretty well. You can wander around the small area until it connects, then make it ring.

-
@akraut You aren't given a location that is good enough to hunt them down?
-
-
@drewbaumann Every time I've gone to that location, they've moved and my phone never connects. I'm pretty sure they got picked up by someone. They show up all around the city.
