Anyone have a link for Vega tire for good price
-
Yet good old OW still plows through uphill carrying a 225 lbs bum who's towing a 50 lbs trailer behind him and still end up with 35% juice level after a 4 mile run.
Man they should make a statue after Kyle.

I bought a hoosier tire that is a 1/2 inch thinner. I think its waaayyy better than the Vega tire as well. I get better gas (battery) mileage and seems to car a bit better.

@atl1wheelin What does "seems to car a bit better" mean?

I manage a tire shop, and that shit was painful to watch. I was scared they were going cut into the wires. Don't think they have much experience with spoon bars lol. Anyways, waiting on my plus and wanted suggestions if I should order a treaded tire or if the smooth vega is the way to go? Will be off road more than pavement.

I've had the treaded Hoosier for about 200-300 miles and I'm not going back. To me the difference is this. The Vega has a more flat profile and it wants to go straight and keep the board upright. The treaded Hoosier want to roll heel/toe. I feel that, with the Vega when you are carving it does not roll as smoothly between heel and toe as the Hoosier. The Vega feels more like the edges/corners of the tire are square. You can force it on the edge but it wants to fall back onto the flat surface.

Do you have to shave the footpads for the hoosier? Link to the tire? Thanks

My vote is for the treaded tire as well, the Vega is good if you're just starting out, but if you have a few hundred miles on a OW, the Hoosier is more intermediate and gives the rider way more flexibility.

@wr420 awesome, thanks for the details

@wr420 Just as a fyi...my hoosier is a slick just like the Vega...no tread. This is the make and model I bought. Shipped for $67 and another $20 for the actual tire change at my local tire shop for a total of $87. http://www.jegs.com/i/Hoosier/522/15600A40/10002/-1

Has anyone in the UK had a tyre change? I can't seem to source any tyre inthe correct size.

As far as fit, I think YMMV. I only had to run the board off the ground and take a metal file to the tire for 15 minutes and it took enough off to ride. It still rubs a BIT, but it doesn't hurt anything. @No seemed to have a tighter fit and had to remove a little battery box. I don't think it effected his range though ;)

Good video on how to remove tire from rim.
