Incorrect odometer and app connection issues
-
So since I got the board about a month and a half and have loved it like everyone else. The only issue I have is having the app keep a connection. When I put the phone on my pocket (Google Pixel) it looses the connection. Even when using the app it will drop the connection and never reconnect. Other than that when it does connect it never gives an accurate odometer. I ride it everyday and it will report a random number seemingly between 1 and 49. Any suggestions? I've also experienced the same issues on another Pixel and an iPhone with similar experiences.

@cworsley4
Have you try to uninstall the app and reinstall it fix my issue!
-
@steeve I think I've done that before. Certainly indirectly with using different phones. I just pulled the app up from reinstalling and there is no way to look for a onewheel or add one. Am I totally missing something? The board is plugged in.

@cworsley4 maybe try turning off the board and restarting your smartphone. Make sure bluetooth is turned on (the phone), turn on the OW app and then turn on the board. If all is well you'll see the board listed in the app.

@groovyruvy I gave that shot and same issue :/ hee is what I get with my iPhone

@cworsley4 I'm at a bit of a loss. In my experience I had a lot of issues connecting with the old app, but once they updated to the newer interface it's been better (not perfect). Recently, I've had issues where my board is listed but not highlighted (indicating the app 'sees' my board), but I can still click on it to connect to the board. Sometimes it shows up briefly then disappears. It's a little hit and miss, but overall I'm able to connect and once I do it stays connected and I don't have issues.

@groovyruvy No worries. It is a bit of a bigger issue now since I have no battery awareness now :| I heard the app developer was on here, hopefully he'll pop in.
-
@cworsley4 I did a quick search through the threads on this forum and couldn't find the app developer (but he may still be following), but there is another way to determine battery level. Not as scientific as the app (which can be a bit off anyway), but per the OW owners manual:
BATTERY STATUS- As the battery capacity diminishes during your ride, the LED Status Indicator will change its rate of pulsing so that the LED Status Ring indicator will remain off longer than it is on. This ratio of ON:OFF time indicates the current battery status.

@groovyruvy I believe the developer is @SeeTheInvisible
-
@thegreck that's it! @SeeTheInvisible do you mind reviewing this thread and offering your input?

My odometer consistently displays 6,481 miles. I've yet to find a way to get it to reset to its correct mileage.
