Screws stuck in my board
-
So i went riding in cold weather and when i tried to take my fender off to clear it out the allen key wouldn't fit in the screws. I have the stock fender and i think the screws may have condensed in the freezing temperatures. i tried to give them over night to see if they would expand but it doesn't seem to be working. Has anyone else had this experience?

Not possible... you either have wrong wrench or you have junk stuck in the screw heads. Use a pick to clean out the heads.

@cascadewheeler is most likely right, clean the screws.
If you measure across the flats of the Allen key should be .125 (Not near my board now, going from memory).
If you wrench was at 70 degF and the screws had been outside in 20 degF weather, you calculate: alpha*deltaT = thermal growth
(70-20)*.0000072 = .00036” closure
Which in practical terms is one tenth the thickness of a sheet of standard paper. So agree that the cold should not be a big player on Allen key to screw sizing.

@cascadewheeler I tried to wipe out the screws with a rag but ill use something harder this time. Thats probably it considering I only have two allen keys and they are the same size. Ill try it and let you know how it goes. Thanks!

Ya get in there with a paperclip, point of a knife, or a pick and clean it out...should be fine.

Or a toothpick.

@skyman88 that falls into the pick category lol
