New guy - questions about safety/equipment
-
@goodblake-eskate Thanks. I'm having a great time. I love to out late at night when there are few cars, pedestrians or dogs and just cruise around lower downtown Denver along the Platte River and Cherry Creek. I really love my OneWheel.
-
@cliff Great place to ride down there! I used to live in that area! I bet Wash park would be a lot of fun too. My car essentially collects dust ever since I got my Onewheel

Here's just about everything you might want to buy, and work instructions for anything you'll need to do.

After five months and around 600 miles with no crashes riding 'Delirium' only in the street with average speed around 18mph, I've aborted wearing the elbow and knee pads. MIPS Giro helmet with the Serfas lights, and some Gore Windstopper cycling gloves only now.

@510-1-whl average speed of 18 for 600 miles? How does one do that?
-
New to the OW & any board sports. 58 years old. Motorcycle background.
- Full-face downhill MTB helmet (saved my purty face in a gravel incident)
- Triple 8 Wrist Guards
- Leatt Air knee & elbow armor
-
@bduals I think he means he carves/cruises typically around 18 mph...
-
I always wear a good helmet and wrist guards. For Onewheel safety gear, this article may be helpful... https://oneradwheel.com/onewheel-safety-gear-recommendations/

Best safety gear (knee / elbow pads and wrist guards) hands down, prodesigned.com, Wild Bill (owner) is awesome to deal with and cares about the products he's been producing since 1985!
