Random Pint Questions

  • Hello All, I have some random Pint questions you might know better than I or could have been answered before.

    • IS the pint allowed as luggage on a plane either as carry on or checked?
    • Can the XR fast changer be used to charge the pint?
    • Is the Torque solid enough to deal with uneven sidewalks and curbs, like the XR, or is it more like the original Onewheel that's a bit weaker, causing wheel slips?

    Thank you in advance.

    1. Yes, tecnically but you could get someone (TSA) who would decide they didn't want to let you on.
    2. No.
    3. The torque is awesome. Very much like the XR.

The feeling of riding it is more fun than the XR due to the round tire and the small deck. The only drawback for most will be lack of battery for distance.

    1. FM has stated that the size of the board and battery will allow it to be a carry on. The TSA and each airline may have their policy, but the battery is under the Whr limit.
    2. The XR charger will not work as is on the Pint. The charge ports are completely different. My guess is you’ll need a Pint hyper charger. Have you seen the XR one in person? Google a size comparison picture...
    3. The feedback from the few folks who demo’d Pints all said it’s awesome. I’d assume it to have no issue and the motor on the Pint is bigger than the V1. It’s the same hub as the XR but with a smaller battery and smaller more rounded tire.

  • I don't think a lack of torque will hold you back. What I see as a potential issue with the Pint over the XR is that the Pint has a narrow and small tire that will work on smooth surfaces but will be outperformed off road by an XR with soft treaded tire . The amount of shock absorption by the hard small tire won't be nice on rough uneven roads.
