Pints in the Wild... Post What Is Good / Not So Good. LET THE RIDE BEGIN!
-
- my real world range is EASILY 10-12 miles
- I've only ever felt pushback at over 14 MPH, and haven't heard of it happening any lower than that previously. I'd even venture to guess that the 12-13 McFloaty posted is not accurate due to the bluetooth issues.
-
@a_onekatie highly possible I’m underestimating the speed that pushback is kicking in at, cause I rarely look at phone while riding. Haven’t ever purposely tried to fig out top speed, not my thing, but app says top speed of board so far is 15.5. Do feel some pushback pretty regularly on smooth streets when carving at speed, but happy for the reminder to slow it down a touch.

@McFloaty no worries! I really think it’s just the Bluetooth. I’ve tried to pay close attention over the past week (yes occasionally carrying my phone in my hand) and noticed it really likes to cut out when you get up to speed, in my experience that’s often right around 12 mph. But any time I’ve felt push back and checked it’s either right at 14.1 or else my connection’s already been lost lol.
I think 15.5 is legit the fastest speed I’ve seen reported on the Pint. Congrats!
-
@LidPhones where did you get this fender for the pint?

my fastest speed so far (unintentionally!) has been 13.5, and i definitely started feeling pushback at 11-12mph in Redwood mode. it really freaked me out!
-
@Franko oh yeah, forgot about Redwood mode, you def feel it at 11-12 mph there!
-
@a_onekatie Thanks! Hilarious, cause not a speed demon, just like laid out carving. Hope someone gets to 16mph though (or already has) since they advert that as top speed. Won’t be me, unless by mistake, with phone in pocket on a really fun road... like it was when 15.5 happened. Float on!

@Cooler-Racer
I made it from 3D printed mounts and a machined fender section. Might bring the design to market to fill the current gap in options (TBD).

Top speed, like pushback, depends on things like rider weight, incline, head wind speed, etc. When I first started riding a couple of years back, I saw a video on youtube with a kid that weighed like 80 lbs on a OW+ doing 27 or 28 mph!!! Looked pretty scary as the board was wobbling and he had NO protection on.
-
@a_onekatie Here's the top speed I've had on my Pint - 19.6 mph. But as you might remember, this was at the point that I nosedived! 😢
-
@J0nKn1ght OMG, I must have missed that TS before! That's insanity!
-
@J0nKn1ght Holy! I forgot I read up on your post about that. And you nearly hit 20 too. Whats weird was there was no sign of pushback that I could see. Really interesting. How bad did your board get scuffed up?
-
@DashinglyHunter The Pint wasn't too bad - I came off a bit worse. There was pushback, which I ignored. I'm going to keep the speed down in future!
-
@J0nKn1ght The board doesn’t look that bad. I’m glad I bought different bumper colors. Cause I’m assuming they ship with other accessories, and not on the board. Correct me if I’m wrong.
-
@J0nKn1ght that’s gnarly you went that fast on the pint!!! Bummer on the spill🤕 here’s my fastest...not on purpose...I keep it slow and carve lots...hopefully they make fangs for the pint.

holy crap!
-
@J0nKn1ght wow! Confirms I’m not a speed demon, but you def are!
-
@LidPhones , yah we definitely need some third party accessories here soon... my pint says its in production the last 2 days showing a shipping date next week. I was hoping with most of the first wave of pints that were shipped 2 months ago that there would have be more after market accessories out by now. Im not looking for much just a easy removable fender or half fender, and the other think would be some fangs... i hear they help with nosedives by giving you a second or two to reacted and jump off.
Do you have the plastic part of your fender attached by quick ties or something else? Also how much would you sell the fender for if you made some more?
-
@Cooler-Racer I believe that guy/company that makes the magnetic fender should just about have their Pint version ready to go. They post/comment on Instagram a ton and keep mentioning it there.
