Riding Music

You should, of course, never do as I do. I'm old, and very well insured, so I'm allowed to do stupid dangerous things.
That said, What is your favorite float music? And does it change with the type of riding you are up to?Tonight, David Gilmore's "Rattle that Lock". Mellow Pink Floyd style, Jazz, blues, and soul. Perfect for big gutter to gutter carves down empty dark roads.

Ha! I was thinking recently that the song Float On by Modest Mouse has got to be the unofficial, official OW theme song!
I like to do themed play lists 😉
Otherwise I’ve personally been listening to the new Clairo album a lot while riding; the vibe is very chill/groove/California and just feels right to me.

I just to time lapse videos and play "Yakity Saks" in my head.
JK. Normally riding on populated paths, so don't listen to music.
Thanks for the Rattle That Lock idea, streaming it now. Good times! I've been hooked on Pulse recently, memories of concerts from my youth...

Oh man, dating yourself pretty hard with that list.
I'm old but "The Osmonds" were one of my parents favorite groups.
I guess they used to perform at Dental conventions they went to.

Youtubed her up, and oh my, She is so cute i just want to take her to DQ and buy her an ice cream cone.

@Sponge315 lol IKR? Unfortunately, I think she prefers the ladies ;)

Yeah, I am dating myself pretty bad, but I was in elementary/middle school for what I listed.
On the flip side, I was joking.
I was an English Prog Rock guy back in the day - Genesis, Peter Gabriel, Yes, Robert Fripp, King Crimson.
I don't listen to anything while riding right now, I need to keep my ears clear for traffic.
Maybe after I cross 1,000 miles (~600 right now) I'll start riding with some tunes.
-
@Kielanders have you ever heard of Francis and the Lights? Every time that dude opens his mouth I think it is Peter Gabriel's second coming! It's a more modern, Electronic/R&B sound overall, but I think as a Genesis/Gabriel fan you could imagine how that translates over. If you want to check him out the song, "May I have this Dance" is an excellent introduction.
Other groups I've been listening to while riding: Real Estate, Cayucas, Barrie, Bleached, Wild Belle, Yuck, DIIV

Add a little Alan Parsons, and Pink Floyd, and that was pretty much the sound track of my teen years.
And holy cow, no kidding about Francis and the Lights sounding like PG. Thanks for that, I like.
For casual YT listening my daughter got me listening to Wiremux playlists. A really good variety of independent (copyright free) music.

One day I will try Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries or -even better- Rossini's William Tell Overture.
Onewheel deserves epicness.

Gave Wagner a try, totally out of character with its swoopy nature.
Trying to keep up with the Valkyries would have nose dived me in 10 feet.
Maybe with a couple of coconut shells and a little bouncing, I might pull off William Tell ;-)

I'll check them out - thanks. I just listened to that Mouse group you suggested, I like that song! It really could be the official OW theme.

@Sponge315 I like to stream Howard Stern while I float...
-
Sirius/Xm 80’s station!

Sirius xm grateful dead channel👍

We are a bunch of old farts here aren't we.
Good thing we have a_onekatie for a little balance.
But speaking of the 80's, turns out Eurasure's "Witch in the Ditch" fit my riding the other night surprisingly well.

lol, sigh. Okay hold on a sec while I throw on the Zombies or the Pixies or something real quick...
