Trail ride on the XRThat XR looks way to clean. You one of those guys that carries a spray bottle of windex and rags with them everywhere they go?
Shit, I think you're right - even looks like the Vega's been hit with ArmourAll.
-
@Sponge315
LOL , No Windex just an old set of boxers to wipe down once home. Taking the pic from just far enough away is also key...
-
@Kielanders
Yes, I have used ArmourAll once or twice in the 500 plus miles. Again the wipe down after rides makes a big difference. Also it keeps the wife happy (not dragging dirt into the house...).
-
Also the XR rail guards from FM are a new addition...

Another amazing ride (and sunset) last night! No winter gear needed out here in SoCal 😎

@SixFootFiveGuy
Sweet Photo (nice color and balance). How is the V1 holding up? I noticed the + upgrade on the back deck and bumper..
-
@LidPhones
So I actually own 2 V1s, so I don't have to lug them back and forth between the two places I spend most of my time and ride. Both of my V1s are holding up and as good as new. The battery life is impressive, I usually get 8 to 9 miles out of a charge. I ride slower usually, meaning I'm not pushing the limits of the board, but I definitely cruise. On this board, I did upgrade the rear footpad, which required a change of the rear bumper. It has a bit of a different shape, but rides almost identical. When on my stock V1, I dont miss the plus rear footpad.
Long story short, the V1 is good as new, and I am certain the battery life is far better than my buddy's plus. I think V1s are underrated today, and the price for good used ones is unreal. Of course it's no XR, but I'm waiting for them to do a Pint XR before I go that direction.

@SixFootFiveGuy
Very nice. I love SoCal.
At least for a while, then the the sheer numbers of people starts to make me feel claustrophobic and I need to retreat to my rural small town again.
-
@Sponge315
Very good point... this place is getting so crowded. I was born here, 40 years ago, and I remember when the freeways were always empty. These days it's getting ridiculous and San Diego is turning into LA. If I didn't live on the coast, I wouldn't put up with it.Here's a shot from tonight's ride. Probably 75 degrees as the sun was setting. I guess it's all a trade off when it comes to how freaking busy this area is.

@SixFootFiveGuy Your epic sunset pics of SoCal inspired me to make this video of the sunset on the San Juan mountains here in Southwest Colorado with a little bit of fall colors. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VKNQzchWwfw

@HanahsDax
What a stunning setting! Goodness, and only one car passed that entire time. Great video, and amazing place to ride.

New solo float plate:
Naked front foot pad:
And new grip tape:
-
how well does the handle cutout work?
-
@b0ardski since it’s only about 1/4” deep I find it to be more of a convenient “grip” point rather than a full fledged “handle,” if that makes sense?
It will really only be a benefit, I think, to riders who either need to carry and maneuver their boards frequently and/or who often utilize the resting position in which the tail end is on the floor, the nose towards the ceiling with the weight of the board resting against your body; both of which I do daily on my commute.
-
more than nothin, I'll prolly get a solo plate eventually
-
@a_onekatie
How did the factory deck grip removal go on the front sensor? Some hair dryer heat to help release or did it take a bit more work than that?
-
-
@LidPhones my factory tape was pretty shredded to begin with so the only special tool I needed was a razor blade.
-
@ZSquared991 oh snap! Imma have to rip off that paracord handle right away!
