Onewheel Photoshoot Thread...

    Very nice. I love SoCal.
At least for a while, then the the sheer numbers of people starts to make me feel claustrophobic and I need to retreat to my rural small town again.

  • @Sponge315
Very good point... this place is getting so crowded. I was born here, 40 years ago, and I remember when the freeways were always empty. These days it's getting ridiculous and San Diego is turning into LA. If I didn't live on the coast, I wouldn't put up with it.

Here's a shot from tonight's ride. Probably 75 degrees as the sun was setting. I guess it's all a trade off when it comes to how freaking busy this area is.

  • @SixFootFiveGuy Your epic sunset pics of SoCal inspired me to make this video of the sunset on the San Juan mountains here in Southwest Colorado with a little bit of fall colors. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VKNQzchWwfw

  • @HanahsDax
What a stunning setting! Goodness, and only one car passed that entire time. Great video, and amazing place to ride.
    Thanks for sharing! βž–πŸ”΅βž–

  • how well does the handle cutout work?

  • @b0ardski since it’s only about 1/4” deep I find it to be more of a convenient β€œgrip” point rather than a full fledged β€œhandle,” if that makes sense?

It will really only be a benefit, I think, to riders who either need to carry and maneuver their boards frequently and/or who often utilize the resting position in which the tail end is on the floor, the nose towards the ceiling with the weight of the board resting against your body; both of which I do daily on my commute.

  • more than nothin, I'll prolly get a solo plate eventually

  • @a_onekatie
How did the factory deck grip removal go on the front sensor? Some hair dryer heat to help release or did it take a bit more work than that?

  • 20191004_225252.jpg

  • @LidPhones my factory tape was pretty shredded to begin with so the only special tool I needed was a razor blade.

  • @ZSquared991 oh snap! Imma have to rip off that paracord handle right away!

  • @ZSquared991
    Very Nice.
Who knew those 70's macrame skills would prove so useful down the line.

This weather here in SoCal has been unreal... yes, it is extreme high wildfire risk, but 75 degrees at sunset at the beach... absolutely perfect for a ride on my V1!

While I thought it was perfect for the Onewheel, someone else thought it was perfect for night time volleyball. How cool is that?
    😎

  • Added a new OW to my fleet today 😎

I had 2 V1's, because I go back and forth between two homes and didn't want to have to lug those beasts every single time, and today I purchased my first Pint. I really dig the feel of it. It's definitely smoother feeling and more nimble... I'm a fan. I am having bluetooth connection issues with my Galaxy S10+, but that fortunately doesn't affect the ride at all. I'll keep looking into that.

  • Nice pics, I was there last week, rode theXR at the beach at Oceanside but neglected to take pics; we were having fish n chips right before watching the sunset and walking back to the car saw a tall guy on a pint. betting it was you.
I believe that's my stepson over by the tower in both pics, bummed I missed you

    Hey B0ardski,
You bet... that was definitely me πŸ€™. Im 6'5" and slender, so when on a Onewheel, I'm pretty hard to miss 🀣. Too bad we didnt have a chance to say hello and meet! Yeah, that fish and chips place is dangerous... its soooooo good! Let me know when you're back here with your OW, and we can go for a coastal ride and have a beer on my boat.
Small world tho, and I'm digging the Onewheel community. Funny that your pic and my pic were at the same place and time basically. This is my neighborhood, the harbor, and I ride out here almost daily... both the strand and harbor.

Here's an awesome shot from the other day...Screenshot_20191103-101455_Gallery.jpg

By the way, just an interesting note to all, I'm absolutely loving my Pint and now gonna sell my V1. All I do is cruise the coast, low key, and I find the Pint is perfect for that. Not sure if it's normal, but I'm easily getting a 12 mile range on a charge. I didnt expect that at all. My V1 got 10 miles, which I thought was amazing... this is even better. My normal route is around 7 miles so knowing I can do 12, or easily 10, is perfect. I'll still upgrade to the Pint XR when it comes out, eventually.
