    • RE: Onewheel for sale $200

@westcoastr Yeah not sure .. but you think if the guy was shady he would've taken my PayPal and never shipped lol.. I asked him the story on it and he replied

"I picked it up from a guy that purchased it on kickstarter. His kids play with stuff for five minutes and then abandon it. Battery may or may not work. I don't know It hasn't been charged all summer "

I was willing to risk it for $200 but he wouldn't ship it , so I figured I'd pass the info along

Not mine , but I found this guy on Craigslist selling a OneWheel without a charger and he says he's not sure if the battery needs to be replaced since it hasn't been charged in a year ... but he's selling for $200 !

I tried asking him to ship to me but he said he's only selling local and cash (Colorado)

So if any of you guys are in Colorado might be a hella deal even if it needs fixing

    • RE: Selling OneWheel Questions?

Ebay fee's are horrible! I ended up selling mine to a guy for $1000 + he paid for shipping . mine only had 35 miles on it so the guy got an amazing deal, but i figured it's almost winter (at least eastcoast) and didn't feel like having to keep listing it to try to get more , or going the Ebay route and paying all those fee's so i let him have it for $1000

Miss it already! haha , i'll be back guys! i'll be back!

Hey guys , i've gotten a few pm's and interest in the board , but nobody committed yet . please let me know if your interested or have any friends that might want to pick one up , i'll give you a good deal!

if i don't hear from anyone by EOD , i'll be listing on Ebay tonight (ebay fees suck , would rather do a direct deal and give someone a good price on here :) )

      thanks

Practically New OW for Sale - only 34 miles ($1150 obo )

I love my OW , but just doesn't suit my needs. I'm getting use to riding it myself but i'm not comfortable letting my nieces ride it or my son , so i think i'm going to move over to Boosted Board

Pretty much perfect shape minus the usual scratches that happen day 1 , only 34 miles on the ODO , have original box, charger, stickers, etc..

Listing on Ebay soon but figured i'd give you guys first dibs

      $1150 OBO

      thanks

@PeterG i assume that it saves some battery and i have turned them off a few times during the day ..never bothered to compare distance on and off (i'm sure one of the pro's know the answer to that on here @thegreck ? )

    • RE: A respectable app

How much do you really need you're app to do?

      necessary

      • display battery life
      • switch riding modes
      • turn on/off lights

      nice to have

      • current speed
      • trip odometer / total odometer

      geek stuff

      • battery cell info
      • motor /battery temp

      who cares

      • wheel slip detection
      • absolute top speed

for me ... all i care about are the "necessary" above . check my ride mode and charge , turn on my lights and GO! ... enjoy the ride , don't obsess about needless details

Wow @slydogstroh , that's some serious mileage. In all of those miles in wet conditions have you ever lost traction mid-carve?

    • RE: Toys R Fun

@LidPhones - The offroad board is (Was) cool, but i'm having issues with the controllers , no longer functioning. it uses standard IR and is really touchy. Also it takes 3 full acid batteries (similar to the kind that go in kids electric scooters) , and this makes it insanely heavy! it's at least 2-3 times as heavy at the OW

my plans this winter is to swap out the control unit and the battery for lithium ...might also swap the motor for duals , depends how ambitious i get :)

    • RE: Toys R Fun

@Polle my neighborhood is ok, no big potholes or anything but the roads definitely have some cracks and bumps. The boosted board actually goes over these really well at high speeds , but hits them hard when going slowly (which i had read as well before getting one). I'm guessing the reason is that once you're moving the front end lightens up a bit and floats over them better and when going slowly you have more weight over the front wheels.

The OW obviously just runs right over these bumps and i hardly notice :) ... i do , however, notice unevenness in the road much more on the OW . when a road is leaning one way the OW feels more unstable whereas the boosted board w/ 4 wheels and a loaded deck is fine on it .

      Left to right

      • Altered M4 800 (old electric off-road board)
      • Detroit Surf Co (human powered) longboard
      • Boosted Dual+ V1 (just got it today)
      • OneWheel (the ultimate)
      • superman hoverboard (hasn't caught fire...yet)

I didn't really post (just) to brag. I picked up a boosted dual+ v1 and just got it today, wanted to talk about my experience and comparison to the onewheel

so of course the big difference is speed and stability (on flat smooth ground). I love the acceleration and carving at high speeds without any fear of face planting (not that it's ever happened). Even though I occasionally reach speeds of 15-17mph on the OW , I'd say I average around 10-12 comfortably cruising around the neighborhood. With the BB I can comfortably run full out at 22mph and it's a completely different experience , i can fly though and explore different areas quickly where the OW is a slower more deliberate relaxed experience (probably not explaining this very well lol )

I say it's a different experience because it really is , you really can't compare the two at all . The OW corners faster, maintains a consistant floating feel over rough and varied surfaces and feels more like an extension of you rather than a vehicle . That last one stood out the most for me , the BB with the controller throttle and wide turns (at slow speeds) made it feel much more like a vehicle where the OW just feel like a part of you

Anyways just some quick first day thoughts .. Any other Boosted Boarders please share your experiences

    • RE: OW Backpack Idea (new)

@wr420 actually not a bad idea .. Although probably wouldn't allow for much extra room and would make it even heavier

It's not even new itself , it's just this clone:

I'm surprised indigogo doesn't do any checks into the products it endorses

    • RE: OW Backpack Idea (new)

@thegreck makes sense , maybe just a wheel well in the center to alight it and then zipper compartments on top and bottom

    • OW Backpack Idea (new)

So i was thinking through the backpack idea again, and i think that we can do something like this pretty easily (rough photoshop, don't judge :) )

      alt text

This specific hardshell case would'n't actually work due to the zipper placement, but i just used it for an example. Essentially what i'm thinking is to have a hardshell case like above , about 7-8" deep which would allow the OW wheel to sit with the top of the board resting against the top of the case w/ the top of the wheel and both sides exposed. on the inside i would have foam cutout. you would open the case sit the board down flush into the foam insert , close the case , latch it , and you're off. could also have areas in the foam cutout (under the board) with room for the charger and other little items.

      thoughts?

    • RE: Man I am too old for this =(

@shoemoney I was kind of in the same boat as you (but slightly different). In my case i picked up the basics quickly , but just felt a little uneasy for the first 5-6 rides. I actually was going to sell and the guys on here convinced me to give it a few more tries, and now i love it!

      a couple tips:

      1. go right to extreme mode , do NOT use classic : classic mode is awkward , extreme lets you lean more and feels more natural

      2. you can't learn by going slow: it's not like a hoverboard where you can sit in one place and slowly make you're way around. To get a good feel for the one wheel you need to get moving a bit. I would recommend heading down a sidewalk or street with no traffic and get moving , once you feel good moving in a straight line try carving a bit

      3. practice on cement, not grass: you might consider practicing on the grass in case you fall , but grass is uneven and has occasional roots, etc.. you really need to get you're one wheel "legs" first before tackling grass and other terrain

      4. once you get the basics down, take a loooong ride: head out at night or when low traffic and take a long leisurely ride (2-3 miles) ...after about 3-4 or these and you're confidence will skyrocket

      5. don't overthink it: just relax and enjoy the ride
