@wheelrich you gave me so much hope that I dropped everything, installed the complication and just gave it a quick go. Still no improvement for me :/

RE: Anyone Know Which Tire Tread Lasts Longest For Street Riding?
@Nick-Sabs I’m the same size and ride the same exact conditions. Got about 370 miles out of my first Vega. But I was intentionally running at a super-low PSI (12-14 PSI) which adds a ton of wear. I found it easier and more comfortable to ride super-flat as I started out. I replaced with another Vega myself a few months ago, cheaper than sending it in, and I was back riding in a little over an hour. It’s pretty easy to do. The biggest pain in the ass is breaking the beads, but guys our size can certainly do with a little elbow grease (and putting our weight into it).
I’m also running at the recommended 20 PSI to see if I get any more life out of my Vega. -
RE: Overcurrent (6) while standing still
@Glyph hasn’t happened to me since.

RE: Cold weather riding
@Maverik me too. And I’ve ridden in single-digit Fahrenheit temps through NYC. I ride for 10-20 minutes at a time and when checking the battery temp at the end of my rides, it drops 2-4° on average.
Those batteries are super dense and they generate a bit of heat themselves just by discharging. -
RE: XR constantly losing app connection?
@leo8877 I got one of those workout “cases” for my iPhone. The type that is supposed to go around your bicep.
I strap it around my calf. My phone keeps connection to the board 100%, and my watch keeps connection to my phone.
Been riding my XR for months like that.
I’m not saying that this shouldn’t be fixed by FM; but it is a hack that works for now. -
First Tire Change
Just performed my first tire change. Vega for Vega—no treads for this fat, flat, and slick guy.
Found this video tutorial that helped out a ton so I figured that I’d share:
https://youtu.be/XEwpf0V5RGUAs everyone says; breaking the bead was a pain in the ass—but there’s no need to bring it to a tire shop. Just put your back into it and follow the video tut tips.
Getting the tire on was a pain in the ass, too. But again; not impossible.
The hour or two investment beats the hell out of being without my board for several weeks while FM replaced it for me.
Tip: You’ll need an air compressor to seat the bead of the new tire. Nothing huge, I used my 6 gal pancake compressor and it did the job perfectly.

RE: Beginner Video of my first ride on my OneWheel+ XR near Portland Oregon.
@mr-vince I go over several speed bumps and speed mounds (the super-wide speed bumps NYC puts in school zones) daily on my commute.
I ride normally, then slow down right before I get to the bump. This raises the nose a bit in preparation of ascending over the bump. I also take some weight off my front leg and loosen my knees a bit.
Just practice, eventually it’s real smooth and you can do it without losing too much speed (assuming you’re riding reasonably in the first place between 13 and 15 mph). I wouldn’t advise taking a speed bump at speed if you’re already riding past the board’s limits at 20+ mph.
