I got an error message trying to turn on my OW+. It said "Do not press the rider detect zone (blue stripes) while switching on.", but this message appears when no pressure is exerted on the sensor.
First, I suspected a problem with the new griptape, so I removed it and cleaned all the glue.
"I need my personal space" error message after replacing griptape
Then I checked that it wasn't a bad contact or moisture problem, and everything looked OK.
Finally, I realized that the problem occurred when I was at sea level for the week-end, after having spent the whole week in the mountains.
So I wonder if the variation of atmospheric pressure can be detected by the footpad sensor?
I live and ride most of the time at 1600m altitude (atmospheric pressure ~835 hPa) and I go occasionally near the sea (~ 1013 hPa).
I think that resistivity measured by the sensor change with atmospheric pressure, and the Controller interprets this measurement as the presence of a foot on the sensor.
Has anyone ever noticed anything like this?
Is it possible to modify the value used by the Controller to detect the presence of a rider on the footpad ?
