      @thegreck
      The bearings are orange and on the center portion of the wheel.
      You can oil in 2 spots. You will see the line going around it. This is where to apply the oil. Get it in the groove, Its going to protect the bearings from water and help them roll smoother. When I need to clean mine I use the Skanunu cleaner/lube which is orange. Then I'll run it for a mile and wipe around the bearing. But make sure you apply the regular oil without cleaners which is clear after that step. Or just use 3 in 1 oil which has anti rust additives and is cheap and canbe found at your local wally world. Don't overdue it though. I have never had any issues after 200 miles. I was concerned at first that it might find its way to the motor but I doubt it would since I havent had any malfunctions. Start with 1 or 2 small drops and let it run around the groove of the bearing. See the photo for points to apply the lube.
      The groove on the right is almost covered by the plastic rim but its there. Theyre just like the skateboard bearings only twice the size0_1474759204770_image.jpeg

    • RE: ?'s regarding modes, pushback and top speed

      Using the new app In elvated mode I find 17 mph to be just past pushback. Meaning 16.9mph is the safest top speed for me. If I push to 17 mph I will probably wreck. I have wrecked at 18 mph at least. Its painful and of course not fun. Know your limits and you'll be ok.also when the nose goes up I always backoff within 3 secs or so because in elevated mode this means your in the 15 or 16 mph range. Some people dont like the nose tilting up in elevated but I find this to be ahelpful in avoiding going past pushback.

    • RE: Best Places to Onewheel?

      @Wakeboarder54
      Night driving is really fun and safe because of the lights on it. Theyre bright enough to see the terrain, and cars can see the rear light. Im glad they built the lights in. Otherwise I would be forever searching for good lights and how to attatch them..

    • RE: Update - BAD CRASH - 2 Week old Onewheel for sale

      other alternatives are the ninebot segway mini or the ninebot one e.
      I may get the one e. Its like a one wheel minus the board. The onewheel is still cooler for carving like youre on a snowboard. Heal up and get some good pads and maybe get back on the horse. Again. Think about it

      No problem,Thanks for the nudge to clarify the procedure. I hope it keeps everyone rolling past 1000 miles.
      Also, make sure you brush the bearing off with a paint brush or a soft brush beforehand. I forgot that step.

      @MichaelW
      There was a time when I thought I had to sell mine or I would break something. Now after several months of riding I can see why having 2 would be a good idea! If I ever have to get a tire change though I'm going to go into withdrawl!

      @jim
      For bearing maintenance I would apply a skateboard bearing oil after every 100 miles. They also have a bearing cleaning oil that pushes the dirt out. You apply several drops then ride on clean pavement, then stop and wipe around the bearing and repeat until its clean. I noticed one of my bearings is made in Japan and the other in China.

    • RE: Hard to watch!!

      They were too stupid to notice the plate with shiny hex screws going all the way around the inner rim. Remove that and you can get to the motor. They could have given it to some kid. What a waste of an epic toy! I mustve missed the part where they sub the motor. I was skipping through it. Theyre just unbearable...

      I bought a tablet just to use the android app and wish I wouldve waited for this app. I wanted to see the total miles and thats the only reason. But the apple one light function works and the android app doesn't. I think android is like microsoft. They make you keep buying hardware to run the newer software.

    • RE: Beach Riding - Yes or No

      Beach riding? Heck no. Since spraying water on it is not an option.
      I would say yes if I won the lottery, in which case I would own at least 5 of these things. and I would buy one for some schools in the area, and they could have a Onewheel club. You could have a set amount of people in each class and a ten minute limit to cruise around. Since it charges quick you could get another 10 minute ride after you wait your turn.

      You can only get better, the more you ride. Slowly the fear will fade.
