    • Onewheel discount for kickstarter backers

      Hey guys,

Thought I'd remind everyone now that the onewheel+ is out that one of the advantages to supporting the kickstarter was getting a $100 discount on all future board orders. According to the comments section in the kickstarter campaign you need to contact future motion and they set you up with a coupon code.

      Cheers!

    • Pebble smartwatch integration

When I ride around I have my hands completely free, but I find it's not really safe to have the phone out to see the battery status, or speed.

Would be great if there was a smartwatch app that listed board info. Bonus points if I could see that info and still see/control my music at the same time.

Once again it would be a reason to publish an API for the onewheel so community member like myself can make these things for you.

If there's a published API I'll write a basic app!

    • RE: Status of the Android application

I'm Canadian, but just bought a house up near lago di monate. Unfortunately we almost never manage to get down to Milan. But I can recommend the lakes up here for a good escape from the city.

Also, still waiting on the android app. During the kickstarter there was a vote for which OS would be more popular to receive an application first. I believe android won that contest no? At least give us a deadline estimate.

    • Battery status/riding mode indicator

I first posted this in General, as I didn't see this topic thread. I've deleted the original post.

I was thinking that the board could use a system for displaying information to the user that excludes the need for an app.
Here's what I came up with:

Instead of having a blue light on the power button, use a multicolor LED. The riding modes can each have unique colors like this example:
      Casual: White
      Extreme: Dark blue
      Uphill: Purple
      Training: Orange
The colors would need careful thought so as not to be mistaken.

When the user turns on the board the color of the power button will indicate the current riding mode.

Once the board is on, after 3 seconds of indicating the riding mode, the power button will then default to a battery level indicator. The color will then represent the current battery status:
Traditional onewheel blue (the current color): 70-100% battery
      Green: 50-70%
      Yellow: 30-50%
      Red: 10-30%
      Flashing red: under 10%

I figure it is not possible to add this to the current boards, but a nice addition to the future iterations without having to worry too much about adding too many more components. It would also be great if the users could change the colors and battery level ranges to their preference using the app.

The colors could also change in alternating patterns to help with error codes. so rather than having to wait and count out several rounds of flashes, errors could be far more quickly identified with a color combination like quick flashing between dark red and any other color to identify the issue much more quickly.

    • RE: Changing OneWheel Tire

I wouldn't be too concerned over flat tires as products such as tire slime have been recommended in the past.:

      http://www.amazon.com/Slime-10011-Tubeless-Automotive-Sealant/dp/B000C11PYW

It would be interesting to know when a service center address in Europe will be available.

For now can we get an estimate on what kind of lifespan we can expect from our tires as there doesn't seem to be much information available online. I know it is all highly dependant on lifestyle and riding conditions, but an estimate would be handy (5,000km - 10,000km vs 20,000km - 30,000km for example)
