Cracking commute this morning. Rode a Hovercraft
Found an aptly named cafe
And came across a sign I beg to differ with
I believe the game has just begun!!
@Polle Bare with this rant for a moment, it's not aimed at you in anyway.
I had a similar conversation on price with regards to my local cafe earlier today, some chap complained the costs were high compared to Starbucks in town.
He's right the prices are slightly higher because it's a one cafe set up offering a cafe service that is unique and localised to our village. They offer gorgeous hand made food prepared on site and made that day from products locally sourced.
The service of the staff is out of this world and the culture the cafe cultivates is nothing like that of Starbucks or alike. I know the prices are higher than that a multinational chain but I'm not really investing my money in the cafe for just the reasons I outline above but because of what my money will do for my village and the ripple effect of the producers of the products they use, etc
All of our products are produced out of passion for the Onewheel community. Hundreds of man hours have been sweated away in sheds and garages perfecting the right kind of handle for us as riders. We are regular guys with regular jobs who had ideas on different sides of the pond, got together and made something of our sketches
Of course there's alternative cheaper ways to carry a Onewheel but there's nothing like mine and @thegreck 's. These handles aren't going to make us rich by any stretch but we don't care about that what we care about is being a positive part of the fabric of the Onewheel community
With every handle bought and the money we make, we are investing it back into new ideas that will continue to expand and push the horizons of the Onewheel experience
Amen rant over
So after a few months of searching for the right bag for my OneWheel and not really being able to find one that ticked all the boxes i decided to try my hand at designing and producing one myself.
I'm not a bag manufacturer but i have had bags made for filming equipment and i figured why not design something completely bespoke for the OneWheel that will allow me to preserve this expensive bit of kit and allow me to travel with it with ease and peace of mind
And this is it the One Penny Bag:
Thanks to those that have already purchased the bag, i'm chuffed to pieces you're all pleased with it. And to anyone else who's interested then do not hesitate in contacting me at firstname.lastname@example.org
The UK voted yesterday to become an independent country again and boy the split of opinion on this result was over whelming with family, friends and colleagues falling out left right and centre!
I needed a break from it all so I took some time out and hit the road to get some thinking space, clarity and fresh air
Doctors should prescribe a Oneweel for stress related ailments as seriously cutting lose, disconnecting and taking time to carve out rides amongst some epic scenery is just what the doctor ordered and should order!!
It's taken a while to get the store ship-shape and how we want it. It's definitely work in progress, but @thegreck and myself are pleased to open the hyperthetical doors of our store to the Onewheel community http://bit.ly/29TMf3W
Hope it's of use and we welcome your feedback.
It definitely goes without saying the more you ride, the more uneven surfaces you choose to tackle, the more obstacles you get on, balance over and ride down the more confidence you get and the more fun you get out of your OneWheel
Here's a little vid I made of a number of lunchtime rides this week https://vimeo.com/161278607
Had an important meeting today, drove a long way for it only to find out it had to be postponed last minute! Now ordinarily i would have been truly fucked off.......not today!
No today the sun was shinning, the location was awesome so i turned the postponement into an opportunity to mix business with pleasure and hit the local beach for some OW action!
Today was a OneWheel day, today was a good day!
Thought I'd try out a new bit of kit using the OneWheel, here's a little edit of the test:
New bags available now.
Shipped in either 14 to 21 days or just 7 dependent on your budget.
Choice of interior lining colours - red, OW blue, bright green have been the most popular choices.
Here's the bag in action:
So about 6 months ago i put pen to paper and came up with the One Penny Bag (http://bit.ly/26bfdiV) which has been received with over whelming support with bags shipping all over the globe and i thank each and everyone of you who has bought one.
I then read a few articles by @thegreck and his ideas he had for Onewheel accessories and i liked what i read and we hooked up, we chewed the Onewheel fat and between us and my crazy talented father-in-law Barry we bring to the market the 'RSH 4 the Onewheel' or in plain english the Removable Side Handle for the Onewheel
I have tested the many, many prototypes over the last few months rigorously busting one after another as i haul a Onewheel all over the place. But what we now have and that you can now have too is one hell of an accessory. If you own a Onewheel and you freakin hate the lugging about bit when the ride finishes and the Onewheel has to travel vertically then seriously check these handles out.
Basically the RSH fits on the side of the Onewheel - either side - eliminating that awkward burning hand/dead arm syndrome the board can now be easily carried horizontally and boy what a difference it makes too.
The handles are easily removable, but once attached these suckers aren't going anywhere they stay firmly in place. You can ride with onein place no problem, or if you prefer, throw it in your backpack when you're done carrying it.
We've tested all manner of materials to get where we are today, these handles are 100% hand built with precision, care and decades of craftsmanship to lean on, giving you confidence that what you're buying isn't a Chinese cheap knock off that might fail at the first lift! Plain and simple at the end of the day we are just 3 guys trying to create cool and useful accessories for you guys that make a difference.
We’re taking orders now! Choose from matte black, or a special hardened varnished wood edition that really sets off the natural wood footpads. Price is from $55 US plus shipping. We'll have an online storefront up soon, but for now please PM me @Jimmers75 i'm looking after any shipments across Europe or @thegreck for US orders
I was filming today at a local landmark called the Emirates Spinnaker Tower when I realised the Onewheel when horizontal is oddly similar!
