    • RE: Reason why I sold my XR

Totally understand your story, I went through the same thing with sportbikes, when I finally decided it wasn't worth it to continue track racing when I had small kids at home and a budding business. It's all about how much you're willing to put out there as acceptable risk. I'm even more so in that position now since business is great and I can't afford a crippling injury, but the OW is too much fun to stop, so I just don't push speed so much and gear up. You take the precautions you can to help mitigate the risk. Life's too boring to just put the fun things like this away.

    • RE: More onewheel Xr bluetooth issues

I just recently returned my low mileage XR to get the board replaced because my bluetooth stopped working entirely. John in Support had me use an app that would show any bluetooth devices attempting connection, and the XR was completely not showing up. The board came back pretty quickly, it only took them a couple days start to finish with great communication all the way, and now it connects as flawlessly as my old + did. I gotta say I was dreading having to send it back for anything but OW support is on top of it, really great job.

    • RE: knee pain!

Lookup Physio-Flex Maxx on Amazon, this stuff just did some magic on my wrist and ankle. It's got glucosamine, chondtoitin and some extras, in 1.5 weeks I went from pain with minimal flexibility to full range/no pain. Was to the point of xrays and getting it checked for arthritis/joint clean-up surgery

      'do you even float bro?'
'yeah, it really is better than sliced bread'
      'in case you're wondering... onewheel.com'

    • RE: 2019 Onewheel? Suspension?

@tomfoolery Have you ever used Tile? https://www.thetileapp.com/en-us/products

I bet you could find a way to stick one of those inside the casing, bumper, somewhere, battery lasts a long time and they're really small. They're only bluetooth, but Tile can help you find stuff through other user's devices if you mark it lost, if they're also Tile users. It'll get picked up by their phone and notify you where your Tile was last seen

    • RE: Onewheel Demographics

I'm 42, I skated as a kid and got into trying different ways of doing it (snakeboards, Freelines) when I got older. When I saw the stuff you can do on this offroad, and it has a cushy air filled tire, I wanted it.
It would make sense if the age demographic might change based on living in the city or in the suburbs/rural areas. If I were young in the city this is a lot cheaper than and more convenient to use than a car, probably as much so being older unless i have a lot of crap to pack with me.
For where I live now, this is more of a hobby because things are just too far apart to use this for more than joy riding trails when I can, I gotta drive to get to the city. So I'd imagine the people in the suburbs are mostly older people looking for a cool hobby, since it's not gonna be any kind of real mode of transport for them.

    • RE: Onewheel, the next version

I bet a swappable battery is in the works. I'd love to see something like this, but for ppl using float plates it would suck having to take them off every time for a swap

    • RE: XR constantly losing app connection?

      @readysetawesome
Yeah, I really question just how backwards compatible Bluetooth versions are sometimes. For instance, the bluetooth version in my car is pretty old because it's a 2012 model, any phone I've had that was natively 4.x bluetooth has had issues with the connection being buggy, even though it should work, same as BT headsets, and it's typically in the initial discovery, even though it was a previously paired device. Pain in the butt.

    • RE: XR constantly losing app connection?

I have an iPhone 6s Plus that worked great with my OW+, and I have initial connection issues with my XR. Usually have to go through a solid 10-15 minutes of closing out the app, restarting bluetooth and restarting the board in no special order to finally get them to talk. Once connected it's solid, but sometimes I just say f' it and ride without the connection. Does anyone know what version of BT the XR uses? I think the 6s Plus is 4.1, so if the XR is a higher version it may be having problems clocking down?

    • RE: Flight Fins/Fender/Shield - First Impressions

I got the FF's and the Fender and agree that I like that locked in feeling you get, but I'm wondering too what'll happen on an emergency bail. Kinda want to get some Fangs now, just where I mostly ride I don't think they would help very much.
Gotta say too that I love the partial fender, I get sick of hearing stones bounce around in the full fender, and yeah I get some in my shoes, but it's still better than listening to them!
So here's a suggestion for a future mod for the brothers to make these more compatible for those of us with Mafia bags:
Create the fenders and the Fins with a sort of tongue and groove design, possibly reinforce it with metal for strength, but where you slide it up from the bottom of the fender toward the top, and there could be a set screw stopper that you screw in once you get it at the height you want. Easy on and off for transport, and it would still be strong.
