    • RE: New iOS App for the OW – Beta testers wanted

This is by far the best thing that has happened to my Onewheel since the fender. Thank you! πŸ†

@itwire said in Safety equipment? Body Armor?:

@madsb how were the gform? they look so thin.... Do they give enough protection? elbow pads?

The Gform harden at impact. They're super comfortable but a bit pricy. Also you look less dorky than you do with standard knee and elbow pads, if you care about that stuff.

In the beginning, besides helmet and wrist guards, I wore G-form elbow and knee protectors and impact shorts - all invisible under clothing. Helped me get comfortable on the Onewheel without worrying if I'd hurt myself too much if crashing. Now I seldomly wear the impact shorts. Knee and elbow protection only in skate parks and if I'm gunning it on trails. ALWAYS helmet and usually also wrist guards.

    • RE: Looking for good off road videos, (uphill / dirt)

@AshWilliams I think you definitely made the right choice :-)

I threw up a (much too long) video of one of my trail rides a couple of months ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZhZuIxUaM2g

Could need an edit with some garden shears, but I trust you to skip the boring parts.

One of my favorite trails… Onewheel handles it very well.

And here they are, all cleaned up (trail ride made them a bit messy) - they do compliment each other nicely, don't you think? πŸ˜„

We can't stop riding! Went to the woods and rode the trails there today - it was awesome!

I've ordered two handles from @Jimmers75 tonight, can't wait to get them. We'll also need a fender for my girlfriend's Onewheel at some point. Got my eyes set on one of @njcustom's fenders (girlfriend can inherit my FM fender πŸ˜‰). They look great. Stoked by all the custom add-on gear this community makes!

Speaking of… I'm an iOS developer and might be able to port some of Powheel's functionality to iPhone. Haven't done anything with Bluetooth before, though. @kwatts, do you have any info that could be relevant?

    • We were lucky!

Just had to share with you guys:

I thought I was the only one in Denmark with a Onewheel β€” certainly the only one registered on this forum. My girlfriend and I have been taking turns on my Onewheel, but we've both dreamt of having each our own and being able to ride together. Turns out at least one guy in Denmark ordered from the Kickstarter campaign, and he put it up for sale a couple of months ago. I didn't see it until this weekend. Luckily, he was a totally cool guy and absolutely reasonable with the price. The board was in excellent condition, and he only wanted ~$1000 for it. We made the 2.5 hour drive that same night to pick it up, and we've been riding together every day since. Friggin' awesome! 😎

@fabuz Wow, you were going fast! I think you hit the speed limit there 😬 Looks like a pretty steep decline too!

    • RE: New site is pretty awesome.

I noticed that the new site states that "Ultra charger charges in well under an hour" (click the plus next to "Freedom to roam"), which seems to correlate with my experience. I've never had it charge in the 20 minutes they weirdly also state further down the page.
