@CaseInvaders
Dude. Thanks for the tip. I'll try that when I get home. I held the power button down but I wasn't watching at the charger at the time, and it probably wasn't long enough.

RE: OneWheel+ dead after 4 miles
@wr420 Well I haven't been near water with it. Besides, I ride in the rain on the V1, slog through puddles and soggy leaves all the time and have done for over a year with no problems.
Still no response from FM.

RE: OneWheel+ dead after 4 miles
Yes, this happened to my plus. Still no response yet from FM.
And WEIRD. Thanks for sharing. I'm worried about riding it in that state but I'll check and see if the balance engages.

OneWheel+ dead after 4 miles
I have a ticket open with Future Motion as of late last night.
I rode it last on Tuesday afternoon. It's been sitting in my living room ever since (rode the V1 to work Wednesday and Thursday because it was raining here and I have a fender on it).
So after sitting by itself, not on the charger, it acts as if the battery is not there. It won't power on, and won't connect to the app unless it's on the charger. Shows 0% battery and the battery temperature is reading 32.0 ºF (it's 70 ºF in my house).

RE: Spots where you regularly find outlets?
I recently found out there are actually NEMA 5-15 plugs under the seats of the train I ride.

RE: Stopped by police
@goodblake-eskate I haven't been hassled yet, but take it with a grain of salt. I pick it up on the train platform but I haven't had any issues at shops or downtown areas with posted no skateboarding signs (e.g., ironically enough, Santa Cruz).
Did you ever get your +, man?

hmm... wonder if this stuff would work for the aluminum too. -
RE: An honest review of the Plus vs. V1
@Gosha said in An honest review of the Plus vs. V1:
Finally got the + and fully tested it. Here's how it compares to V1:
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayy better ride! I have no idea who posted the "it's a subtle upgrade" comment a month ago here. It's not even comparable. Super stable, way faster and feels a lot more like an electric skateboard+onewheel. Carves are more solid, there's a lot less side to side jittering, acceleration is very smooth. Normally, I cruise at 13-15mph on V1. On the plus, it's around 18-19. I'm sure you can hit 25mph or more with this one. The deck somehow feels a lot bigger and more planted.
I agree with all of the above, although I have no idea what you're referring to with "side-to-side jittering"--I don't think I ever had that problem.
Now the negative part - it's A LOT less range. About 23-25% less. I kept a chart of all the rides I've done on V1. At 47F I get 6.4 miles on V1. On the + it's 4.7 miles.... Yes, you go a lot faster, but still.... 4 miles is Boosted Board range... Could be quite a bit longer.
I don't know about 25%, but I have noticed the range is a tiny bit less on my commute, maybe 1-2% less battery power when I get to work. I wonder if it's a side effect of your outdoor temperature? The new motor has better heat control, so maybe it's allowing the motor to cool down too much?
Also, it's not quiet like some people say. You can still hear and feel it, but quite a bit less so when going above 15mph. Pedestrians still turn around when you're coming up on them.
This is absolutely 100% not the case with mine. My + is like riding a ghost compared to the V1. The only time it really makes noise is over rough concrete or when I reverse there's a quick chatter.
What's your tire pressure?
Overall, a good way to describe the + is it's V1 with foot straps. After trying it out for a few hours, my V1 is now for sale, if anyone's interested.
:) I'm keeping my V1 with a fender on to commute and rainy days. The + is going to be the summer commuter and the trail rider. Ride safe out there.

RE: Onewheel+ at speed: a word of caution.
All board sports are dangerous and OneWheels are no exception--they are generally faster than skateboards over the same terrain. The danger is in many ways what makes it fun. I appreciate your insight and words of caution, and respect that you are constantly getting back on the horse.
What I don't appreciate is your insistence of calling other people dumb-asses, jackasses, etc. and you seem to be getting angry over the fact that other users here have defined different risks and limits for themselves. Watching you post in this thread is like watching someone go through the stages of grief.
It's all gonna be okay, man. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

RE: OW APP versions list and characteristics
Dunno if it helps, but I commented on some of the characteristics with the new iOS app vs OWbuddy over on this thread:

RE: OW+ Pushback at 15 in mode 6?
@ZeeMox said in OW+ Pushback at 15 in mode 6?:
Onewheel+ finally arrived today, and it's... pretty fun. I'm more than a little disappointed by how limiting it is at speed, and that's after my first ride. Since I'm an Android user and I don't have the new app yet, I think this may be a shaping issue. I can't see any way in this app to check your speed after stopping and doodling with my cell phone doesn't seem like the thing to do at 15+, but I happened to be riding past one of those radar-equipped speed signs when I started hitting serious pushback, and according to that thing, I was going 15.
OK, I have iOS with OWBuddy and the new app installed.
I have just run through the settings on my OW+, and they are as follows:- Sequoia - 4 - Max Speed 12 mph
- Cruz - 5 - Max Speed 15 mph
- Mission - 6 - Max Speed 19mph
- Delirium - (not available yet, presumably 7) - Max Speed 20mph
Now all that said, pushback happens a little prior to max speed, so you may very well be in Mission mode and experiencing pushback. It is possible (although a little harder to control) to push past pushback to the mode max speed.
Edit: I'm assuming that the OWBuddy app has backend IDs for Classic, Extreme, and Elevated of 1,2, and 3 respectively.
Edit 2: BTW, I did not check the number of flashes on the board. The numbers above represent the setting ID in OWBuddy

RE: A thought: post your OW+ shipping notifications w/ first two digits of order #?
Mine arrived today as well, and I live in the same city as the warehouse. I got the notification on March 30 when the label was created. Didn't actually ship until Friday, and FedEx ground doesn't do Saturday delivery. @bryanpdavis @Wrex
Edit: I also stand corrected on the extra fenders. They were inside the actual inside (branded) box with the OneWheel+.

OK. WTF. What are these kids doing for a living? And how do I do this for a living?

RE: A thought: post your OW+ shipping notifications w/ first two digits of order #?
@gbones2692 there are no fenders in my order at all
Edit: 36.5 lbs

RE: Dude, where's my fender?
Free fenders? Wha? I'm a pioneer and I didn't get any free fenders...

RE: Corner scraping
Eh, my fenders look like I took a cheese grater to them and the corners of the frame are chowder. I just think of it as character.
