Was just in Amsterdam a couple of weeks ago.
I was thinking to myself what a fantastic city for one-wheelin' - so many bike paths & bike lanes!

Thank you. I really appreciate the advice & encouragement.
Been practicing on the driveway this weekend. I have it pretty well nailed.
Keeping my feet & ankles more “loose” to better absorb the side to side undulations was the key. Also, remembering that momentum is your friend on loose surfaces.
Newbie rider here - 58 years old - OW arrived in mid-June - almost 50 miles on it as of today. No prior board sport experience.
I have had 2 minor get-offs w/ some road rash and a dented helmet - both early-on - well packed GRAVEL two track driveway with slightly concaved tracks. I have been practicing, but still don't have it down. I'm sure some of it is just fear of carnage. I can ride grass aggressively all day long, but uneven gravel (especially this driveway) still gets my goat.
Any advice to help me nail this down?
New Rider - First Pushback
My XR arrived in mid June - 58 year old newbie rider - almost 50 miles on it now. It was a steep learning curve - never into board sports.
I was putzin' around some paved neighborhood streets yesterday and experienced my first pushback (several times) - recognized it right off. The OW engineers did a great job of programming this in - very gentle & subtle. Anyway, it felt like kind of a milestone in my learning curve.
Riding in Traffic - Best Practices
Newbie here - still figuring things out - still not completely in control, but getting there. I live in the country - lots of two-lane backroads with little traffic, but no sidewalks or bike lanes.
Last weekend, I attempted a 9 mile trek to visit the kids. The 2nd road (about 2 miles in to the ride) on the route is more traveled. After the 3rd car went around me, I decided to turn around and head back home. The cars were just freaking me out.
So, what are the rules of the road? I’m very interested to hear everyone’s best practices for riding in traffic.
With traffic or against traffic?
If “with traffic”, is riding goofy better for seeing the traffic around you?
A bicycle mirror on my helmet definitely would have helped.
RE: Extreme(balance challenged) Newbie impressions
Thanks - that and Chris' other instructional videos are very helpful. Today, I practiced figure 8s and heel-up dismounts on my front lawn for an hour. Heading out now for more practice and maybe a ride around the neighborhood.
