RE: "hoverboard with one wheel"
"This is for people that can afford half a Jet-Ski"
Even if it was a $100 bucks, you wouldn't catch me dead riding that thing... Colorful LEDs, speakers, a roller blade for a tire... It's clear this senile silicon valley big wig doesn't get it. Plus, it looks like you turn by swiveling your hips -not at all surf/snow/Onewheel. Count me out.
The more he says, the worse it gets.
RE: FOCUS GROUP: Lower weight, Longer range, Faster speed?
@Andrew I know from talking to FM before that with the exception of the tire, every single one of the parts is custom made. All the electronics and mechanical parts were designed and are being made by them. Even the motor was custom designed for the Onewheel
I agree with @Franky, holding weight is very different to what a Onewheel needs to go through when used aggressively. With the amount of power on those batteries, a carbon frame shattering could end up in a catastrophic fire or very serious accident (not to mention the rider getting seriously hurt from carbon shattering and falling)
RE: Petition: bring back extreme shaping 1.0
All firmwares are not the same, there is obviously a reason they release updates. With each updateI have always noticed improvements. Sometimes you notice a lot more and sometime they are more subtle. With the latest update I have noticed my breaking is much stronger and you get a much better control of the board.
There are other reasons they would upgrade FW and we as the users would like to have our board up to date. New functionalities on the app might be added, like more ride modes or more live information about the board, etc.. Also, Future Motion has always been very focused on making the board safer and smoother so to me, not upgrading as soon as they release new FW is a not an option.
My Onewheel came in!!
I been riding my original Onewheel from Kickstarter for a long while now but today I received my second one which was a few weeks passed the listed wait time.
My friend who ordered one the same day I ordered the second one got an email about his shipping today. Hang in there, boards are being shipped out and they are well worth the wait.
RE: What kind of range are you getting?
I can usually do 6-7 miles in one charge. The top I have recorded has been 8 miles on a very flat trip where there was not much change of pace involved.
It really has to do with several factors. How aggressive you ride, how much uphill there is on your trip, rider's weight, how charged the boards was are some of the many factors that go into the range outcome.
From experience and previous conversations with @Future Motion leaving the board plugged in overnight will always get you the most out of it.
RE: Footpad Order Page Down?
I ordered a new set of footpads from the website and it was totally worth it. They send you two new amazing looking pads that right after installing makes your boards look brand new.
It comes with instructions, new screws with thread locking (once you take your originals out the locking is ruined) and tool needed to install. Totally recommend.
