    • RE: Bindings

@desperado Yea, the center portion can be removed, leaving two mini fenders. I only use the middle part when riding in wet or muddy conditions.

@desperado lol thanks. That's a good idea about the bolts, I don't have this board anymore but I remember leaving them uncut so I could test out different heights for the footstops. The lowest height ended up working surprisingly well.

Are you on a V1? I noticed the plus doesn't have as much of a problem with this due to the shape of the footpads.

Either way, one option is to use longboard footstops, they're only about a quarter inch high, and you can rest your foot against it. I did this on my V1 and it allowed me to easily bail without tearing my ankle or shoe apart, but also feel secure when the trails got a little rough.

Here's a picture of my V1 with some footstops

@gwinntanamo excellent comparison, I'll be trying the 5.5 next time I change my tire, thank you.

Edit: also, thanks for saving me from buying the beastwheel rails lol

    • RE: High Speed Nose Dive in Delirium (WW+)

Self balancing and motor output have an inverse relationship. As the motor works harder, the self balancing becomes weaker. So at 21mph, the "warning" you're expecting is pretty much too brief for your brain to notice, there simply will be no time to react. The moment your balance stresses the motor too much(at that speed), the nose is already slamming into the ground.

@ninozowi said in High Speed Nose Dive in Delirium (WW+):

I don't mind the "punishment" for certain bad moves being wiping out. But nose diving as the "punishment" for going too fast appears to be extremely dangerous.

...it's a one wheeled vehicle, how else could it respond when the limits are exceeded? I don't mean to sound condescending, but these are fairly basic physics we're dealing with here.

@cameroni79 said in Do not ride at high speed!:

@bmtka chest tube is still in. Was hoping to get it out today, but no dice. Lung started to collapse again. In response to some other posts, I've had no trouble cruising at 19-20 mph. My record is 21.7. That being said, there was zero warning on this crash. It shut down totally. I drive track and do some pretty

High speed motor cut-out is very easy to recover from if your body is balanced properly over the wheel and your knees aren't stiff. If your form is good, the motor cuts out for a fraction of a second, then engages again and you keep on riding. It's terrifying, but not the type of thing that means instant nosedive.

Also, like other people have said, max speed is based on many factors, tire pressure, terrain, weight of the rider, wind direction, riding stance etc..... When they said max speed is 20mph I think it's implied that you don't weigh 250 lbs riding uphill for example. Once you pass pushback, you're on your own.

No. I just don't feel comfortable with the risk of them hurting themselves, or my OW, or someone/something nearby.

    • RE: Facebook group idiocy.

Ok, I read the comments, watched the video etc... I think it was wrong to assume the video was deleted because of a trump shirt, you made it sound like the mod saw the shirt and blew up the post. It was deleted because of the comments, that's it. Should he have threatened to boot you? no, but now that I have a little more context, I could see why your question would be irritating. This is a mess on both ends.
