I was riding my onewheel on the street that vehicles travel on through a shopping center in Uptown Houston last week and a rent-a-cop on a Segway chased me down to tell me I couldn't ride "that thing" through here. I said "says who?" He said that they just put signs up banning bicycles and skateboards from the entire shopping center and starting pointing towards a direction where the signs were at. I continued on through and around the entire shopping center and didnt see any signs. After that I was certain he was full of B.S. because a bicycle ban sounded really odd to me but it was uptown houston where lots of rich people go to shop and get drunk so who knows. I continued to Onewheel all around that area with no other issues and even past by other rent a cops whom didnt care to even bother.

RE: Are V2 Concave Pads backwards compatible to the V1?
you know what. As I was riding my onewheel this afternoon I put some deep thought into the revised pads and how they are angled slightly upwards towards the very forward and aft ends of the OW. I think I would rather have the "bite" or "gradual lip" on the toeside and heelside edges of the pads. Why? Because when I'm carving, my board goes "toeside" and "heelside", and I frequently find myself having to lift either my toe or heel to adjust when the board bounces ever so slightly. Just a thought.

RE: What are people using as a battery backup?
Not using a battery backup. Carry your charger in a backpack and find an outlet or dont go off into bfe. Plus, who wants to lug a big stinking battery pack/inverter with them. Not me. First "off" with that thing on your person and let us know how many ribs you break or organs you puncture.

@r1alvin I can almost guarantee they will; I don't think they redesigned the main body of the board. And the regular footpads have been out of stock in the store for a while, so I'm pretty sure these will replace them.
Cant wait to see what they come up with. Most of us are willing to pay too. We need to just keep talking about it so they see the demand! I made another thread in the general discussion because these threads are getting clogged up with people whining about wanting a hand me down or refund for their 9 day old purchase.

RE: OW+: Cost of increased speed
To all of the people whining about their 10 day old purchase of a V1, GROW THE HELL UP. NOBODY CARES. RIDE WHAT YOU GOT AND BUY A V2 LATER. JESUS.

RE: The next level is here
I have zero desire for a faster onewheel. MORE TORQUE would be AMAZING for steeper inclines. Especially for those of us adults that are upwards of 190lbs. Range, sure definitely add range. Now I'm just daydreaming.

RE: The next level is here
Very exciting if we find out that the new footpad sensors could be backwards V1 compatible, then we will only solidify consumer/manufacturer loyalty. Regardless, I'm interested in the new features and will most likely add another to the stable. Feature list please!

Looks like new footpads that hopefully(fingers crossed) correct the sensor problem. Probably the reason that the current footpads have been "out of stock" for a few weeks now. Let's hope these new footpads are backwards compatible!
What sensor problem? 300 miles,,,zero sensor problem,,,
