    • RE: Onewheel Dying with 40%+ Battery left?

@Nick-Sabs there is a potential solution documented for this issue by FM themselves. Check out this page: https://community.onewheel.com/topic/8/keeping-you-in-the-game

Here is the quote I'm referring to:

"My battery reading is incorrect on my app. What should I do?
Julian our all-star electrical engineer suggests that you leave your board charged overnight to essentially re-calibrate the battery cells. The battery is measured by one of the many battery cells and different cells may hold different amounts of charge over time. If you charge your board for a long period of time all the cells should balance in their charge."

Just toss it on the charger for 24-48 hours and see if it solves it.

@skyman88 , just loading the app and connecting to the one wheel will automatically prompt for firmware upgrade if one is available correct?

I ask because I have never seen it since my purchase end of Feb. A few app updates, but no firmware.

    • RE: My ow won't turn on...

@The-Serbian page 45 of the user manual references the blink codes I shared above and also says:

"Always count the blink code if one occurs. Sometimes you can solve the issue by charging the battery or by switching your Onewheel+ OFF and then ON again. If you are still experiencing problems, please contact Onewheel+ customer support at 1-800- 283-7943 or send an email to support@onewheel.com"

So go ahead and put your XR on charge for 24 hours. Then try turning it on and see what happens. Good luck!

@The-Serbian, which model Onewheel do you have? I found this on the FM site:

      OF BLINKS DESCRIPTION

      01,02 Low Battery
      03 Overcharge
      04 Invalid Power-up Orientation
      06 Motor Stall Detected
      07 Over-temperature Controller
      09 Bad Accelerometer
      10 Bad Controller
      11 Bad Hall Sensors
      13,14 Over-current Detected
      17 Over-temperature Battery
      18 Over-temperature Motor

    • RE: Concave FRONT footpad

@skyman88 Thanks man. They are rad, but I don't see them as the end game in terms of front concave. I feel like FM will solve this in their next flagship model

      I certainly hope so anyways.

For now, like you said, having upgraded the front pad to TFL grip tape has helped a lot and using a custom profile with the nose up slightly has also helped with being able to push off of the front pad.

    • RE: XR Improvement Possibilities

@fruitygreen I agree. I'm certainly not holding my breath on a hot swappable battery from FM. It would hurt sales in their next XRv2 model with more range.

Why would I upgrade if I just just buy a spare battery for my XR and carry it in a small backpack with me?

I do believe that traveling with the Onewheel needs to be solved though. Not sure how they will accomplish that, but I feel if their morals are in the right place, they will consider that at some point in the future and at least try.

    • RE: XR Improvement Possibilities

@someoneingermany makes sense. I suppose the more I ride it, the more endurance I'll have. I recall when I first got my XR I would be done by about 6 miles. Now I can easily ride 10-12 miles without a stop. That's about 300 miles in.

A hot swap battery would be cool for sure.

    • RE: XR Improvement Possibilities

@someoneingermany I would love an easily removable battery, not necessarily to carry a spare, with the XR, I'm fine with the range, but to make it easier to travel with the Onewheel.

    • RE: Concave FRONT footpad

@skyman88 I ride a lot of gravel, offload and different types of textures and my fear with the fishbones is that a little rock works it's way between the fishbone and grip tape then causing sensor engagement.

I'm likely being a bit on the paranoid side here and not trying to start rumors or irrational fears.

I do however agree, that is the best solution right now since V1 sensors can no longer be purchased, otherwise I would argue that a Kush Pad + V1 Sensor would be optimal as long as the installation is done very carefully.
