@b0ardski Eye candy indeed. First snowboard I ever rode was one of those burton split tails. Had a dickens of a time keeping the nose in front. It just wanted to turn backwards. And is that a Mono ski there in the middle? That was an interesting day. legs were never so sore.

RE: Pint or XR...which is most like cruising the pistes in a snowboard?

RE: Onewheel in heat?
I'm also in southern Nevada. I try to avoid anything over110F. I mostly shift all of my riding time to early morning.
But sometimes you just end up out there in the convection oven. It sucks, but it hasn't affected the board any. -
RE: New Tire
@OneDan That old Burris looks like it has deeper treads than the new Hoosier.

RE: COVID guilt
@HanahsDax Nice! City land? BLM land? Resort land?
Our city pushed some dirt around once and called it a BMX Park. (which you road once)
Since then they have never touched it again. It is a rutted mess that never gets used for anything.
A little shovel time and maybe a scrap wood ramp or two would go a long way. -
RE: International travel with onewheel?
There have been quite a few threads about airlines and travel with OW's. A search for "Airlines" will get you a bunch. As I understand it the federal standard is that no Li batteries over 160 WattHours are allowed. The XR then is out since it is over 300, but the pint squeezes in just under that limit.

COVID guilt
I have been very fortunate during this whole COVID pandemic. We are working at home and I am still getting a paycheck. Our community has, by and large, been passed by. I think we have had a total of only 9 confirmed cases.
On Monday a local high end bakery offered us free donuts, but by Tuesday I felt so guilty for taking advantage that I went back a dropped $10 in the tip jar.
I feel a bit the same with the OW. I am absolutely loving the the wide open empty streets this situation has created. I can slip out into the night, carve, float, and waltz away to some epic music on the earbuds. While the world is hiding inside. All of which makes me fill a bit guilty. So what I need now is the community "Tip Jar". How to pay it back for the joy I am getting from this situation. -
RE: Watching Action on the Leaderboards
@blkwalnutgrwr Any truth to the rumor that some of those "big mileage" boards might actually be rental boards?

RE: A PSA to the greater OW community during the COVID-19 Pandemic
The country is really feeling the emotional and economic pressure to get some normalcy back in our lives. I thought I would just share a little more data. This curve is from the CDC web sight.
Obviously there is a lot of disagreement among the models as to where we are right now (first graph). If we use the second, averaging graph, we are looking at a little over 100,000 fatalities and pretty flat growth by the first of July.

old mans activity? Or just older persons forum
Nope, just an old persons thread! :)
And it is a rather expensive for the average teen.

RE: First time one-wheeler, knee pain?
I find it a bit uncomfortable for the front leg if I am into "pushback" speeds. Sometimes you just need to back off a bit and stand more upright.
Just for a change try riding it backwards. Same leading leg but with the pressure sensors under your back foot. The difference is subtle but might be interesting to try.
