also 40; full regalia for me. helmet, wrist guards, knee + elbow pads. i don't care how dorky i look, i type for a living and, as you said, breaking any bone at this point would be a major inconvenience. admittedly, i have put a few miles on it w/out knee pads, but was kinda too nervous fully to enjoy those rides. i'm also only 29 miles in on my plus, as a total noob, with only very distant snowboarding experience, so that also factors in to my road armor decisions. hth :)

noob here. i ate shit on my plus and it was 100% my fault. luckily i'm on some ATGATT (All The Gear All The Time) as a paranoia holdover from my motorcycling days and all pads saved my ass from broken or fractured bones. walked away with minor scrapes and bruises, but it could have been much, much worse. anyway, i don't blame the board in any way whatsoever. i know exactly what i did (tl;dr, i was entirely way too cocky for only 50 miles in), am happy to have learned my lesson, and was back on 2 days after the crash.
