Hi guys, so I already have a onewheel. Love it. Really can't think of too much I don't like about it.

I noticed the new version is coming out and I'm having a hard time seeing what all has changed or improved.

It looks like the new one is:
      -slightly faster.
      -has some new deck/grip style

But outside of that...it seems almost identical. Which isn't bad. But I am really curious about a couple things.

Battery life. Have they improved it?
      Water resistance. Again, improved?

Any motor specs available? I'd hate to realize a similar motor is being used and they only made software changes for speed and things.

Does the new onewheel come with a fender? Will my old fender work on it if not?

    • I nearly died!

I exaggerate. But I did get past pushback going 20mph+.....until I nosedived.

Didn't wipe out though. Managed to stay on the onewheel, a wobbly mess nosediving multiple times as I fought for control haha.

I honestly can't say the pushback was too hard to get by. But as I was regaining my control pushback must kick back in because slowing down/regaining control was the very hard part.

It was most definitely an adrenaline filled ride. Surprised I didn't fall off to be honest. It actually didn't feel like I was going to fall off either though, as odd as that sounds. I guess I just believed in myself that I could recover control.

    • RE: Safety equipment? Body Armor?

The issue with balance boards is the time to actually use it... Onewheel seems better to practice and train on than any balance board and is actually something you can incorporate into the day and more readily make time to ride!!

This has been something I have been enjoying practicing. My hopes is come winter, I'll be much more confident in my goofy skills haha.

Wear what you feel you need to wear to be safe. And then wear something extra for good measure.

Personally, I don't use any protective gear. That's what I feel safe and comfortable with....so by my own argument above I should at least wear a helmet....Have I fallen? Of course. But I also know how to control my fall and usually I'm 100% expecting/prepared for the fall.

@kbman said in How to never carry your onewheel:

I asked FM about charging like that before I bought. They said the electronics have to be fired up to manage the current into the cells and we all know how much harder it is to turn that wheel when it's powered up :( too bad

I sort of figured that must be the case. Didn't feel like pulling it needlessly around to confirm or not haha.

Hi all, I'm still new here, had my onewheel for a week maybe now. I'm probably a genius because I've only had to carry my onewheel for a long ways once.

The first time it died on me....I decided I would never carry the damned thing again.

      Anyways, enjoy the video.

Materials cost like $5-10 at the very most.

You probably have stuff laying around at home you could use.

Very stable, goes basically anywhere I can walk. Or anywhere you would normally be able to ride.

It's also possible it charges as you do this. I havnt had to pull very far, but I did notice a 1% gain when I tried running back and forth with it. Could just be the app reported a different number. I don't care to experiment further on that.
